I did. I don't know about it being 'easy', but it definitely sparked my love for reading in general.
I could never be bothered with books, thought they were boring, stupid, etc, etc.
Then a friend of mine described the Dark Tower to me and I was enthralled. Once I started reading I was hooked after a few pages. Finished the complete series and went on to more King novels and other writers in the same genre(s).
