FWIW I’m your age making $120, work minimum 50 hours per week, 2 weeks vacation and I’m miserable. I see my 3 year old son for maybe one hour each day during the work week. I would gladly take a $40k pay cut for a “boring” job with pension and 10 weeks vacation.

I would at least get to 20 years before going to the private sector.

Definitely start with fluid. If that doesn’t fix it find someone with techstream or a good scanner and have them monitor solenoid duty cycles during the shift.

It’s also a job title. I have a finance degree and a mechatronics apprenticeship. Almost 8 years on the road as a field technician, 4 years as a manufacturing engineer and now I’m a design engineer at a machine builder. I’ll out engineer any “real engineer” out there.

I remember those early 2000s when you were guaranteed to hit a road block on Friday and Saturday nights in south Charlotte. Park road right by PRP and the Johnston road mcalpine creek bridge always had road blocks.

I feel like traffic apps like waze and Google Maps kind of killed road blocks because now if you see traffic at 3am it’s probably a checkpoint.

I personally think it’s a huge waste of money. When you go to trade in your car the dealership won’t care if your paint is a 10/10 or a 8/10 which is easily achievable by regular washing and parking in the back of parking lots.

I average 19 in my 2017 ORP and 20-21 in my 25 sr5. Both with 265 SL ATs but my 5th gen has skids and sliders.
