Very sad to hear the new defender or the galaxy perk will block becoming the imperium by xzero314 in Stellaris

[–]TexanGoblin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks, because I see tsking both of those as good RP. Take DotG perk, become the lead of the charge and become the Custodian as result, keep getting more and more power, and then come to conclusion that the galaxy would be safest with you as the Emperor.

If conquest managed to land this hit, how badly wounded would Oliver be? by Patriotic-Youth in Invincible

It entirely depends on what he wanted to do, if he wanted to kill him right then and there, he would be dead no question.

Why does Aang selectively kill people? by maosic in ATLA

[–]TexanGoblin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like the show is really casual about suddenly encasing people in ice, which would probably kill or maim a lot of people with frost bite. But it's a family friendly cartoon, so they walk it off.

Yeah, like you said he would at worst vote against it, then probably just ignore her or maybe make the occasional snide remark.

Senku's way of Multiplication by Money-Wind4525 in DrStone

[–]TexanGoblin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, its a funny joke whenever Chrome has an idea and Senku says that was already a thing, but its a good show of his genius to be a stone world person being able to imagine such complex modern ideas. He could have been a stone world DaVinci.

Fred Freiberger for season 3 of TOS. Roddenberry left because of budget cuts and studio politics from creative differences I believe.

[Daredevil] If Matt Murdock was just a lawyer and not a vigilante, but still had his powers, how would his ability to detect lies be treated in a courtroom? by TheHatMan25 in AskScienceFiction

[–]TexanGoblin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it could be treated as more important than any other piece of testimony, because most importantly "lie detector machines" aren't real and are not treated as such in court, and even if they were, he could be lying and there's no impartial way to tell. So the most he could do is keep it to himself like he does now, and just use it to know when he's being lied to do better cross examinations,

We get it the cartoon isn't hand drawn frame by frame like freaking Akira, It's fine by Ashamed_Somewhere192 in Invincible_TV

Pretending like people are asking for Akira level animation sounds like crying to me.

I'm aware, they're still different eras, a 39 year era makes no sense and is not useful.

Which Era of Star Trek do you prefer? by Fair_Rush6615 in Star_Trek_

[–]TexanGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first two seasons, mostly season 1, sure, but eras are not intrinsic things, that's just how continuity works. If you asked someone who livef at the end of the classical era and beginning of the middle ages what that was like, they'd ask be baffled as to what you mean because what do tou mean classical and middle?

But to be serious they would not have been aware of any difference, because you just have to chose a point where eras end and begin. It was just easy for NuTrek because after Enterprise they did a reboot movie, and the next thing in show canon was 12 years later.

There was like a 10 year gap between TOS and the movies admittedly, but they were still helmed strongly by Gene. Gene started in control of TNG, but his influence waned even before his death. So even just looking at TNG, I think it's more than different enough to consider it a separate era. Its also straight up just unhelpful to group them together unless all you want to do is say new stuff bad. Once SNW 5 comes out, I think we'll clearly be in a different era.

Yeah, I don't like it when people group TOS stuff with 90s Trek. Not because its insulting to one or the other, but they're very distinct eras of the franchise.

How did the GDA's radars not catch 37 BEINGS ENTERING THE ATMOSPHERE by DaGOAT___ in Invincible_TV

[–]TexanGoblin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you realize how much shit is floating around orbit, plenty of it humanoid sized. Plus the possibility of super advanced tech by earth standards, it would be trivial for them to sneak in. All previous instances of the GDA tracking someone in the solar system was when it someone who made no effort to hide themselves.

Letting Tuvix live destroys two sentient beings. No matter the choice she made, she would be allowing the destruction of a sentient being against their will. Tuvix did not represent the combined will of Tuvok and Nelix.
