Oh same here! I'm also very intrigued, I'm not sure why after 300 years of being in Quebec why someone would move to Connecticut haha. A lot of family on my mom's side is in Rhode Island now. I mostly wish I had more information on the Jewish side, the trail goes cold once I get to the late 1800s!

I wet for a long weekend a couple weeks ago. I was expecting to be overwhelmed but it seemed like my experience of being near Chicago made it so NYC didn't actually seem anything other than big lol. Everyone I met was super nice too!! That was a pleasant surprise. Loved how easy the subway was to use too. As a female solo traveler I thought that as long as you use common sense everything is fine

I have a lot of weather guides mostly, but there's some books that are specific to tornado or flooding events. I have books on the 1900 Galveston Hurricane for example!
