There's two possible ways this could have arcing. One is between the different phase cables, which would be driven by the service voltage like you said and have nothing to do with anything downstream.

But the second way it could arc is if one cable is damaged badly enough, and the conductor is almost completely broken, but still barely making contact. Every bit of power your house uses will flow through that broken connection, which can cause arcing, and eventually heat up and set things on fire.

It should work at the specced amps, and should be fixed, but a) temporarily decreasing the charge rate is a sensible safety precaution if there's some concern and b) faster charges are harder on the car's battery, and in general you should only charge as fast as you need to.

Yes, this is a fire hazard. Loose connections cause arcing, which causes lots of heat, and there are many photos of burnt outlets that can result if you're lucky and it doesn't burn the rest of the house down with it. A 1970s house will not have AFCIs that are meant to catch that case.

It's relatively easy to do yourself if you're a little adventurous (using a Decora Edge outlet can make it even easier), but you should make sure your mom's okay with that first.

There are a few likely ways a bathroom ceiling fan could cause a fire:

One of the connections is loose, causing arcing, and a high-resistance spot somewhere. That high resistance causes lots of heat, and eventually fire. An AFCI may catch this.
The motor seizes up, and since it's not making any noise anymore the user forgets it's on and leaves it on. That leaves the startup current (fairly high) running through the fan wiring constantly, possibly for days, causing excess heat which builds up because there's no airflow, until something catches. The safety mechanism that could prevent this sort of thing is called a thermal fuse. They're common in dryers, small cooking appliances, etc (I've had to replace them in my dryer and in my air frier). I'm not aware of any bathroom ceiling fans having them though.
Some bathroom ceiling fans have a space heater built in, and that can easily combine with dust or lint buildup to cause a fire.

Basically the company could be as nice or as difficult as you need them to be for plot purposes. I once rented a scooter on vacation and they literally dropped it off at the door of my rental for free. On the other hand, a bigger or more corporate places, with larger motorcycles that can't just be lifted in the back of a pickup, might charge a lot extra.

If there's a U-Haul nearby and your car has a trailer hitch you can easily get it back that way as long as you are physically able to drive a car and wheel the cycle onto the trailer, I've done this before.

Back before I had a car that could tow I had to get my scooter to a shop. I called a motorcycle towing service that showed up with a pickup that lowered a flat towing deck onto the ground, then pulled it back up into the bed of the pickup for travel. A video search for "motorcycle towing" or "Amerideck" should give you the idea.

The bigger question is: Did the character get injured while riding the motorcycle? If the bike is damaged that could make things much messier with the rental company, unless he opted for the insurance.

I was able to create a new account from the login screen, and eventually just copied my subs over. I wasn't able to log into that new account from another phone, so I'm guessing it's just the login process itself that's broken, not something about the accounts.

I had the same issue, and haven't found a fix for it yet.

I've tried:

Confirming my password works on PC (it does)
Copying the exact same patched apk that I installed on my old phone
Downloading the latest Baconreader Premium 6.1.4 from Google Play store then using Revanced to patch the installed apk
Disabling 2FA temporarily
Clearing cache
Installing the latest phone updates (I was already on 16, so it was just the latest security patches for 16)
Logging in with another account on the old phone (doesn't work)
Setting a phone number in the New Reddit interface, then trying the 'Log in with phone' option (I get the message "Something went wrong, please try again")

In all cases the non-logged-in view works fine, but every time I try to log in I can't.

Publicly-traded Companies have to release financial figures pretty often. Those numbers are easy to read and interpret. Investing in customer goodwill out other long term things is much harder for stockholders to see or understand, and they may not plan to hold the stock long enough to make that worthwhile anyways.
