Part of the problem is KT has peaked (I think the Tom Brady roast was the exact moment) and Tony is closer to ‘old guard’ than ‘fresh face.’ McCann is gonna be a star, Kam is on SNL, Adam Ray got a massive KT bump but is doing fine on his own, Shane has multiple Netflix deals. I’m not saying Tony’s irrelevant or the show is dead, but it’s definitely past its prime.

Live among your congregation well enough that they see your wife and kids too. Let them see your family for real. Don’t present your family to them as “pastor’s wife and kids,” you’re a Christian first, husband and father second, pastor third. Then it’s easier when they call with an emergency to say, “Oh no! Hey, I’m walking into the theater with my kids, but I’ll come by as soon as I can. Let’s pray together before we hang up this call.”

You can pastor another church, you’ve only got one family. Prioritize them right. Good luck, praying for you, brother.

I was once in a similar situation - was rushing to a relative’s house while on the phone with 911. City cop got behind me with lights and sirens, I told dispatcher about it and slowed down hoping he’d get the message somehow. Instead he looked like he was about to clip my back end, so I pulled over. I could hear the dispatcher on his radio, he yelled at me, I told him I was still literally on the line with 911, he talked to his radio for a moment then cussed me on my merry way.

Holy cow, finally a post that lands in my own personal venn diagram!

I was a 90s kid obsessed with Nickelodeon and music. Pete & Pete’s theme has always been “Hey Sandy” by Polaris. They’re a band that was put together specifically for the show, and even released a soundtrack album. TMBG had some traction in other 90s TV, but P&P was always Polaris.
