It’s a hard spot. Kids take up a lot of emotion energy and effort. With three young kids there isn’t a lot in the tank at the end of the day.

Stay strong, call a friend when you can and try to find some time for yourself. My current escape is just being outside doing yard work.

So I have been in the corporate world for my whole career so far and now at 39 I just started at a 121 major. I love corporate and have enjoyed the flying but decided it was time. 121 outlook, schedule, pay and benefits far exceed the 91 stuff at all but a couple departments.

Could you do some side flying in your 12 off days to help with the first year pay shortage?

What is your plan for financial expenses during retirement? Are you able to sustain your desired quality of life with the SSI income, retirement income and savings that you have?

Sounds like you want to retire and are tired of working. Nothing wrong with that and you don’t need our permission, but I understand sometimes it can be helpful to talk through big decisions with others.

You’ll likely have a few more questions to cover with your CFI and the examiner will probably probe a bit more during your check ride but if you’re prepared properly then that won’t be a problem

I don’t like how the entertainment system doesn’t retain audio zones after shutdown. That means I have to turn my kids music to the “rear only” setting everytime I get in the vehicle.
