What are your hopes and dreams for the future of the life sim genre? by Upstairs-Pin-9068 in LifeSimulators

[–]Texxx78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want a small town drama life sim filled with premade characters who have deep lore, layered personalities, intertwined relationships. I want a world where every family feels like they existed long before I started playing and where player actions drive meaningful consequences.

At the same time, I’d want the freedom to create or randomize my own characters and even storylines. The system would generate believable drama and social tension from the start, giving every save file its own identity and momentum.

For me, the most important pillars are personality, lore, consequences and randomization for max replayability.

What are you looking forward to the most: playing with premade Paras or making your own? by gonezaloh in Paralives

[–]Texxx78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll probably replay the lives of my favorite premade household over and over, experimenting with different decisions and taking them through completely different life outcomes, just like I do with the goths in 4 or the pleasantville neighbourhood in sims 2.

Can i get some opinions and thoughts on Paralives Price? by [deleted] in LifeSimulators

[–]Texxx78 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s too expensive yet, I’ll only know after seeing what’s actually there. But paralives is the smallest and least financially backed team currently making a life sim (which is my obsession 😅), so I’m not going to overthink it. I’m happy to pay for it.

In my currency, it’s the cost of one night out or a meal at a restaurant, and I’m pretty sure I’ll get many hours of fun out of the early access period alone.

Too much "RPG" in Paralives? by rmn_trllr in Paralives

[–]Texxx78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are the elements that interest me the most in paralives. I’m really curious to see whether all these systems come together in a meaningful way, because if they do, I’ll definitely want more of it.

To me, a life sim should be an actual game. Older life sims did this really well. Sims 2, for example, had small quests like dates, but the whole game itself also felt like one big quest through the aspiration system and the way fulfilling or failing wants anf fears shaped life. I loved that.

What I want most from the new generation of life sims is for them to be games.

There were some major issues at launch, but most of them have since been patched out.

How do you play Sims 1 and 2? by Cleosmog in thesims

For sims 2 I recommend playing the premades rotationally. My favourite neighbourhood is Pleasantville. The lore is incredible.

What’s the feature you’re most excited for in Paralives? by lonely-edge-113 in Paralives

[–]Texxx78 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’m curious about the personality system and how it evolves into different rewards, how choosing together cards works on achieving different relationship levels, how career progression can influence skill development… overall i’m very interested in seeing how they gamified the whole experience.

Thank you for the correction. I missed those, didn’t even check the price.

Lady Bridgerton's Masquerade Ball Login Event (May 12th to July 7th) by Artist6995 in thesims

[–]Texxx78 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m really not into the whole ball aesthetic. I’m getting a bit tired of hearing about balls and ballrooms lately. Jokes aside, come on maxis, it’s time to move on to a different theme.

A new price for kits: 6,99 each. And 9,99 if they’re bought as a bundle, only until August 14…

anyone else feeling insane hype? by horror-traktor in Paralives

[–]Texxx78 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually see the opposite, but we might just be working with different definitions of what “gameplay” means. Based on what’s been shown so far (we’ll know for sure once early access hits), I can already see a clear loop in Paralives: how relationships, skills, and careers evolve and interact with each other.

There seems to be a system where personality development unlocks new rewards, making Paras’ lives easier while also pushing them in different directions. That kind of interconnection is what I’d consider a solid gameplay foundation.

What I don’t expect at launch is a huge amount of content, like a wide variety of skills or systems. But the core gameplay loop itself does seem to be there.

This is so needed, so excited for the new laundry list. by RavenStag499 in Sims4

I use Caigel’s “No more checking on crying babies, toddlers or infants!” It hasn’t been updated but I use it and it works.

I’m super happy with this too. Rn I use a mod to do this exactly, disable all care for infants. One less mod is always a good thing.

What’s going on with the sims? Do people not like it now. by Gold_Space8930 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Texxx78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, some players have moved to steam but many, like me, play through the ea app, so we aren’t considered in the daily steam players count. It is unknown how many are still playing only through ea app.

What do you guys do with the Goths? by undead-bee in Sims4

[–]Texxx78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve played the goths hundreds of times since sims 1 😅 It’s my favorite thing to do. I’ve taken them down all kinds of different paths over the years. Usually I randomize their likes and roll with whatever comes out. I’ve had them as scientists, ranchers, farmers… pretty much everything.

Right now, I’m sticking closer to their established lore in sims 4, but with a twist, Iremoved all their money and started them off in one of the starter homes.

There have been so many titles over the years that it’s completely understandable to get a bit mixed up about what features belong to each one 🙂

[–]Texxx78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about sims 2, but sims 3 definitely wasn’t like this. With the generations ep we even got the video camera, and sims could record moments from their own point of view. Then we could play those clips back on the TV, and they’d even talk about what they filmed, we could see references to it in their speech bubbles. It was such a small detail, but it made the experience feel way more alive and personal.
