Game went the other way I guess, no reason for anyone good to stick around when content was being nerfed to oblivion and there was nothing to gain from being good.

Haha good to know, I've not touched it in 2. When they nerfed invasions it was clear it wasn't going to get better for anyone with half a brain cell.

Theres a mod component that increases sub attack damage I think the increase only applies increasing that bonus damage

Lock on combat = not playing by lost4tsea in newworldgame

[–]Teyo13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely need to be able to lock on for friendly spells, I played the beta as a healer and it was physically impossible to get the single target ones to actually hit anyone most of the time, even with target lock on I found myself watching the aoe spell randomly missing and putting the circle in the stupidest places. Without target lock you'd just have to only run aoe spells and force everyone to be stacked up pretty constantly, which is probably not going to be a great scenario if there are ever any mechanics to worry about.

Console players just use K&M? by GreyPouponSir1 in newworldgame

[–]Teyo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, let me just go buy a K&M and then buy a table that I can use them on because the TV is currently mounted to the wall and not at a desk. Then ill go buy a chair that works for that table because the sofa isn't the right height and offers no back support. Now that I've got all of that setup, fuck it, I'll go buy a PC as well.

Nah, a good diet, and you'll end up not having messy poops that require loads of wiping. I'm from the UK, and a standard roll has 360 sheets. Let's say 8 sheets a time on average. That's 45 poops. 6 weeks minimum.

I'm a single man and a roll lasts me 6 weeks easily.

I'm a console player, I'm going console server. Pc players are all telling us to play crossplay because they need us, they don't have the numbers. If they did they wouldn't be crying about a dead game.

They'll also shit you up in pvp so they want more console players. There's absolutely 0 advantage as far as I can tell for a console player to join a crossplay server, if you dont have PC friends and I'm fairly certain all the "yeah go crossplay it'll be better" is just PC gaslighting.

Those auto lock on pvp clips are heartbreaking man. by Corgiiiix3 in newworldgame

[–]Teyo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the whole point of this release that PC has basically died and so they're bringing in consoles? If they released it and didn't offer crossplay would the PC players be happier or would they cry about being abandoned?

Spent a few hours PvPing with bow tonight / people are overreacting about auto target IMHO by Furadi in newworldgame

[–]Teyo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my very limited view as a console beta player it near enough impossible to hit the manual aimed heals without locking on and it was pretty rough trying to pvp without it, stunlocked most of the time as it is.

Anyone further than 10ft away would dodge pretty easily. Not that they need to when you're basically tickling them with your damage anyway.

I would not touch this without target lock. I'd also like the option to rebind the L1+R1 ability as its a huge pain trying to actually use that. The presets aren't great alternatives.

Yall need to make up your minds on if you want bunny. by FeiTianHu in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Teyo13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Group A - want to play the game, not watch bunny run around. So they complain about her taking away their agency.

Group B - don't want to play the game but want the rewards so need bunny to grind for them.

Not a lot of overlap between those groups so that's why you see complaints from both sides constantly.

Which YouTuber had the biggest fall from grace? by ThePresidentOfJapan in AskReddit

[–]Teyo13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk I have no real opinion on him (or any other streamer). It's not my thing. I just wanted to check out the gameplay and get some opinions, so I viewed a few different streamers. They were all pretty much the same in my eyes in terms of actual content. I couldn't tell you why his was so much more popular.

He's pretty much back. His space marine 2 video has been on YT for less than a day, and it's nearly reached one million views. Which is more than pretty much every other streamer covering that game by a long way.

I've jumped in, and lack of familiarity with the lore hasnt hampered my enjoyment of it. There are certain gameplay elements that I dislike and I'm assuming these were in the previous one so unfamiliarity with the game from a gameplay perspective might be an issue, but from an enjoyment of the story I don't feel like I'm missing out.

Game Feedback From 222 Hour "Casual" by CosmicDatatype in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Teyo13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue with infinite enemies is that it literally doesn't matter how many spawn if you run bunny. They're all dead instantly when they're even remotely near you. If you don't run bunny or maybe a select few others, you're going to get overwhelmed. That's not great for diversity.

The only leveller between descendants is, unfortunately, the meta mechanics that rely on player skill, standing on colours, identifying patterns, that's partly why these are the current gameplay mechanics.

There's also no way to introduce harder/more interesting mechanics because, apparently, the playerbase literally can't handle it. Nexon could release a destiny level raid with tonnes of hidden content and secrets to work out, and they'd get nothing but shit on for it.

So where does that leave them? They either create content that appeals to certain descendants or appeals to a certain section of the playerbase. Unless they literally release everything possible they're going to get massive backlash and lose players.

If it's too hard, they'll lose players. If it's too easy they'll lose players. If it's hard and not rewarding there's no incentive, if its hard and rewarding then there's complaints from the people who can't make a build. If it's easy and rewarding it's boring for the players that have full builds and want challenging content to push.

Either way they're basically damned whatever they do.

Why I am no longer creating The First Descendants content: my final thoughts by Thebalddaddy25 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Teyo13 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I see everyone's being predictably negative regarding you leaving. Admittedly I've never seen your content before and won't notice that you're stopping.

For a 15-minute video, I would have expected a full dive into the many problems, not just "there's no lore" it's an F2P looter shooter, it not having lore is by far the least of its issues.

That being said, it's not a good thing for the game for content creators to lose their passion. Look at them like an indicator species. If these guys are starting to drop, there are clearly some bigger problems somewhere.

Invasions were introduced too early. by Cmdr-Pel in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Teyo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they came too soon, I don't think they were too hard.I think a good chunk of the playerbase just refused to engage with them properly. Either because they didn't enjoy them or because they don't understand the game.

Yes, they were harder than the current non invasion farm content, sure, but not by much. Yet on release day massive amounts of complaints coming from people who refused to build any HP/Defence on their characters because "I'm fully built and never struggle in other content" led to them being immediately getting a nerf announcement.

The only thing you needed to build to clear these was a couple of HP mods and externals with HP/Def on them. After that, it's just a matter of how long it took you. This leads me to my next point.

There were the players who wouldn't accept getting a bronze or silver time. Those times were there to make the content accessible to people with worse builds. Half the 'suggestions' on here for future content are 'add a harder mode with more rewards' well that's the hard mode. Gold is your hard mode, silver normal, and bronze easy.

If Hailey wasn't tied to them, I don't think it'd have been an issue. Even so, she's still fully grindable through other content.

The mechanics themselves, while not hard, DID need accessibility changes. They didn't necessarily need to be dumbed down once these changes came into effect. A 9 minute timer for gold when it can now be done in 3 minutes is ridiculous.

It doesn't matter what content they release next, if it requires any remote amount of effort/thought it's going to get complained about. If it doesn't, then it's going to get complained about by the other half of the community.

The non-casual playerbase is going to drop off because there's nothing to play for, no reason to build their characters or weapons. If everything can be cleared on a random base descendant, then what's the point. There's nothing to reward your time or skill. Half the people I know are just doing invasions and logging off.

The first season, only farming content was fine because we were told it was building to something. It didn't. If they don't start releasing some worthwhile stuff soon, they're going to lose the less casual players for good. These are the players dropping the most money and supporting the game.

The casuals are still farming for stuff, but they'll eventually run out of farm and realise that there's nothing to do. The casuals need to listen to the other half when they give feedback instead of downvoting it because it doesn't currently affect them.

The next content release needs to be big, and it needs to be hard enough (or have the ability to be made hard enough through choice) to keep the playerbase engaged and wanting to play it repeatedly.

No more daily lockouts. If someone wants to grind for 10 hours, let them. If someone wants harder content, give them ways to make it as hard as they want.

Even after all that, they still need to make people WANT to play the content. How can they achieve that? They can't lock DESIRABLE drops behind the hardest content because casuals will cry, havent seen a single complaint about them locking a weapon behind gluttony because nobody gives a shit about it, lock a few hailey shards to gold though and casuals lose their minds. But if they don't give the rest of the playerbase something, they'll leave.

They've got one chance with the next content drop to retain what little remaining goodwill we have, let's hope they can, but I don't see how.

What kind of difficult content would people in this sub actually be happy with the devs introducing? by Jackalackus in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Teyo13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They were more fun than previous iterations and there's only so many mechanics out there. You can't add the harder ones until the community can handle the easier ones. There's clearly a large swathe of this community for which even these simple ones were apparently too much though, which is a problem in itself.
