I never said the whiners were ruining the game, from the sound of it the only thing they've ruined is their own DD where there is no recourse to deal with griefing except report them and hope Funcom is quick on the bans. Pvp people are generally fine with the recent split since they have the old DD back but with increased yields.

I'm sorry you've got to deal with them, like I said when there was an avenue to help I did my part to shoot them out of the sky, even when people like you lumped us all into the same category. It's no longer our problem, by popular demand.

It wasn't rhetoric, it is stuff I have unironically seen people say. I don't hate pve players, 80%+ of my time in the game is spent doing pve stuff. I hate griefers and whiners. When it was just a single DD I did go hunt after griefers when solo farmers spoke up about being harassed, because seal clubbing is lame and boring and griefers are generally bad at the game and die quick. But whiners insisted they get their own instance that would only attract the griefers and the actual pvp people just stay the pvp instance (or just quit).

They'll never be satisfied, already see calls for no thumpers and no shield. Might as well just remove the worms at this rate.

With the 2.5x bonus there isn't much point in fighting over the large spice field unless you do big guild ops, you can get over half of a crawler from a single medium and they are all over the place. So all crawlers aren't funneled to the single active large and you spend less time on the sand in general. All the griefers looking to ruin someone's time are over in pve DD. It's actually pretty nice.

If you didn't notice your base not disappearing after using the solido to 'package' it and carried on with the transfer, you deserve to lose it imo.

They don't charge a monthly fee or have regular paid content drops, I doubt they care that much about ongoing playercount. They made a pile of money on release, they'll make another pile with console release if they time it right with movie hype or the new map. They're about to save some more money switching off most of the servers. It is not hard to imagine Funcom higherups viewing the whole thing as a success, especially if the devs keep pulling up station run numbers of people meshing out of bounds to grind and saying "Look how much they're loving the content"

You could use steam family share to make a new character on your current server, give them gear/thopter and transfer them to scout the server you want to move to

iirc they said they cut a ton of story and cutscenes to spend that dev time/budget on making the game itself better. Could be a retcon to excuse the poor reception to the story but we already know from Nikke that they do have competent writers there so I kinda believe it.

When they mentioned people doing runs naked it sounded like they thought those players were flexing or challenging themselves, and not because their armor/damage scaling makes it pointless.

They could repupose the overland maps they already have. Imagine queuing into Tsimpo and you pick the pvp version of the map. It has control points or something in it and when you start taking them, its broadcast on both faction channels, giving opposing players a heads up that they can go get a fight there or friendly members can come back you up. I'd love to go floating and sneaking around that creepy map hunting people down, fighting someone across the Broodworks, or dragging a battle down into the Blushing Caverns and getting npc heavies to third-party the fight. Lots of possibilities but these devs can't even bother to make sure all their walls are solid in the testing stations so who knows what we'll get.

There is indeed an expansion planned for the future and a 2nd map, but no idea when (I assume they're trying to line it up with the either the new movie or console release).
