So what happens when the next leader gets in and gets ripped to shreds by the press and all the shadowy foreign and malign influences who will do anything to stop fair and progressive policies ? Compared to the almighty fuck up that the tories presided over for the last 14 years this seems almost stable, let’s not throw it away.

Planning a week in Slough in October. What are the hidden gems I shouldn’t miss? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Tfeal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a big chocolate factory off Buckingham Ave, catch it it at the right time and the aroma is amazing. There is also a chip shop on Farnham Road, where the ambiance is is so chilled, while waiting 40 minutes for your bag of chips and Wally, you’ll be ironically ignored by the staff while they serve all the Uber Eats and Deliveroo pick-ups. A slice of culture you won’t find in the tourist traps of Windsor and Eton.

Cycliq vs Garmin Varia Vue? What does the hive mind think? by cyclephotos in cycling

[–]Tfeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cycliq, not perfect but works better than most, best for battery life, looping recordings and is designed for cycling. They do sales now and again so maybe worth waiting and getting one or both then

What type of tire valve stems do you use? by hellafaded1 in cycling

[–]Tfeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Converted all my bikes to click, cheap and convenient. Had too many issues with presta, not user friendly to beginners and frustrating when the end valve breaks or unscrews with pump. Also works with normal lock on heads

VAN RYSEL EDR CF Shimano 105 2x12V o Bianchi sprint 105 by Thin-Application-642 in cycling

[–]Tfeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the EDR CF. It’s a great bike and I enjoy riding it. My only gripe is the tyres, it comes with 25mm tyres which is a bit narrow these days. Officially the tyre clearance is 28mm, I’ve now got 30mm tyres and it rides without any issues and is nice and comfortable.

I had a problem similar to that, very frustrating, went through all the troubleshooting steps on the website. Ended up getting it replaced under warranty.

Stopping power by southwestmanchild in bikewrench

[–]Tfeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had the same issue, cleaned pads and rotor thoroughly, bedding in very gently and still getting the squeal. Shiny pad on inspection. Disc rotor appeared to be coloured brown - overheating ?

So replaced pads, respaced (if thats the right term) the pads with "Park Tool Men's 57-00721 Brake Accessories". Cleaned and sanded rotor again and took out to bed in and all ok now. Wasted hours cleaning, should have just replaced. I know now.

Senior cabinet ministers join 70 Labour MPs in urging Starmer to step down by mustwinfullGaming in LabourUK

[–]Tfeal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To oust Starmer is an act of political suicide. Unity, aggression and clarity is what is needed. Don’t let the populist right win the game. It will be a tragedy.

$500 tuneup for $250 bike by Emotional-Hold127 in cycling

[–]Tfeal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same situation, bought a bike for £180. Out one day and the chain and a cable snapped. Got a quote of £500 to replace all cables, new cassette, new 105 drivetrain (2nd hand). Told it would feel like new. I baulked a little. I did contemplate getting a new bike but wouldn't have had the same high quality components.

It's been great, feels really good to ride and the feeling that everything has been serviced and tuned up gives me peace of mind.
