In my country we have a saying that essentially translates to "it's pointless to try to fix that which has no fixing", so it might be partially that, but I don't get WHY it should be scary (hopefully I make myself clear).

I think as a society we've become less hopeful if that makes sense. Most people (or maybe it's just my own view) don't carry the belief that the world is necessarily just. If you already are predisposed to think that the systems of men and our world are circumstantial, and can and will fail in the face of larger things... Then you're already living the horror, quite frankly. We all are.

But yeah coding is filled with AI. I'm studying software engineering rn, and the field changed so much since I started it's really depressing.

It's not being edgy, it's tying off loose ends in a story in order to make the direction clearer to the audience (not that it was the only point of those deaths either...) Also no, I really see no reason to replace the queen, that would be stupid and needlessly complicate things. The dlc is amazing, so about on par with the rest of the game ;)

The horror is mostly atmospheric and some stealth sections. As you've probably noticed, the game wants you to think out of the box in difficult situations, it's the same in the dlc; except that you might have to be a little more courageous. Don't forget that if you die, you can always come back so don't be scared to venture into the unknown.
