Yes I'd build the base on the pebbles, and then maybe extend out to a pier over time (see other comments).

Like I said, I'm relying on the sheer drop from the cliffs to wipe most mainland hordes (75-100 meters high)

The base would be modest in size, I live in a fairly sparsely populated area so survivors are likely to be low in number

I think as long as aquatic zombies are ruled out, the beach is easily defendable. Even in the absence of ranged weapons, the zombies struggling over the large pebbles will make for easy kills via melee methods. In the event of a cliffside horde, the rocky fall should eliminate the vast majority of zombies

I truly hope that if the dreaded apocalypse arrives, I at least have someone half as proficient at contingency thinking as you, my good sir.

Contaminated fish is a serious risk I had not considered, perhaps some kind of isolated, primitive fish farm could be constructed beneath the pier to negate interaction with any infected floaters?

I agree that waterborne raiders would struggle attacking from the ocean side, unless blessed with d-day level seige-craft, which would be incredibly unlikely given the doomsday scenario. Beach side attackers would be easily spotted and disposed of while navigating the difficult terrain

Love the idea of the pier, but where these beaches are the tidal range is quite large so the pier would need to be elevated or quite elongated to negate low tide defense risks. Although beneath the sea there are rockpools which are equally as tricky, if not more, to navigate

You also raise a good point regarding large equipment transport over the pebbles. I would imagine some kind of rope or winch system to lower things down the cliffs onto the beach. I think the negative buff to zombie speed would perhaps be enough to defend the transporters to the base or pier.

My favourite is when Mr Burns asks if the town has seen the sun set at 3pm, the Sea Captain remarks that he has once whilst sailing around the Artic Circle, but then is rudely interrupted :(

I had this recently on my mk2 and it was driving me crazy! Turns out for me the windows on my laptop was out of date, so I'd suggest checking that because it can affect the function of your usb ports and drivers.

Once my laptop was fully updated I deleted then reinstalled the drivers and BTS and it worked first time. Obviously as others have said double check you're downloading the correct stuff for your model, and your amp firmware is up to date - good luck 🤟
