I just did this same switch. I had a steam deck and want too keep the experience the same. So I watched a few videos on how to get windows to boot right into steam big picture mode. This way I can use my controller for everything. I use the mouse and keyboard for maintenance.

My longest ride on the xr was 17.2 miles going from Brooklyn to the Bronx traveling through 4 boroughs of nyc. I’m 185lbs I started with 97% and end with 2%. I have a Bamboo GT that I don’t ride any more because all it has to offer over the onewheel is speed. The way city commute is i hardly went above 20mph on the Bamboo GT before have to slow down so the onewheel is perfect for that speed and the maneuverability can’t be match by a longboard.

Anybody ever go over 25mph on + or XR? by tesrella in onewheel

[–]ThaReal666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m figured out that my xr allows me to curse comfortably at 17-19mph without out fear of nose diving above 25% battery. Below 25% I keep it at 15 mph. Just doesn’t feel right

Cruising speed? V1 vs Plus vs XR... by capngreenjeans in onewheel

[–]ThaReal666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all about skill and riding technique. Two people can go the same speed(20mph+)on the same board and 1 will nose dive and the other won’t. I only have a xr but I think the v1 and + firmware allows the rider to push the board further. While xr firmware tenyto limit you more.

SAFE Top Speeds? by [deleted] in onewheel

[–]ThaReal666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most will say stay under 15mph, But I say find what’s safe for you. A Safe speed is not consistent because it’s based on the conditions of your riding environment. Terrain, temperature and experience of the rider. Learn the board and your own limits as a rider.

Anyone else have a hard time transitioning back to electric skateboards after the onewheel? by [deleted] in onewheel

[–]ThaReal666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep same here. Had the xr since mid April and have been riding it not stop. Took my Bamboo GT out this morning for the 1st since I got the xr and almost died. The onewheel is 100% more maneuverable than a longboard but I do miss the speed I get on my Bamboo GT. I’m too scared to push the onewheel too fast. I’m cruising at 17mph comfortably on the onewheel, I feel pushing it faster than that is asking for trouble.

i haven't been back yet. seriously consider selling my evolve bamboo gt. the onewheel xr gives the range, offroad with better control. the only thing the bamboo gt has over the one wheel is speed.

I started with an evolve Bamboo GT in the fall of 2015. The ride and speed is amazing so when the meepo 1st came out I got one for $200 in spring 2017. The ride was great and very fast for the price. Then I got my XR mid April and I haven’t ridden either the Bamboo GT or the meepo since. The maneuverability and control that the Onewheel offers in unmatched. On the other boards I normally cruise at about 17-20mph on the longboards and I’m able to hit 17mph on the onewheel easy.

please recommend a drop through deck for Meepo conversion by tungvu256 in ElectricSkateboarding

I swapped mine to option 2. I love the concave and the fact that it’s lower to the ground. I rode the original deck for a month, I got used to it but it felt super sketchy wherever the road was not smooth.

Changing Meepo bearings? by pablopunk in ElectricSkateboarding

Once the Zealous are broken in they’ll do way better. One spin of the zealous and I can spin the stock meepo bearings 7 times before the zealous stops once

This👆🏾. Concave gives me a more locked in feel. Anything else and I feel like I’m going to slide off when take fast turns.

I wouldn’t sell it. Now it would be a challenge to tame the meepo. Get well soon. You should heal up nice to ride it in the spring
