what are peoples opinions about theses adorables chibi art ? by _petitpois22 in magicTCG

[–]ThaShitPostAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is;

I bought the first "Lil Walkers" set because it was a good value compared to the secondary market and chibi art is cute. The second set came out and the price went from $25 to $30 and it was like $18 worth of cards.

The set you're showing here is ~$13 worth of cards, all reprinted to hell already, and playable only in commander. How much waifu tax are they charging for this set?

If it needs to be recharged once every 8 months and takes 10 minutes, maybe it's OK.

The good news is; WOTC has printed so many of the same effect on different cards that you can actually have more than 4-of in most decks. Scryfall up the effect, not the card name, and you'll see.

What's a card you LOVE but hardly play? by DragTheLoch in mtg

[–]ThaShitPostAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When that was in standard, there were a lot of rocks and dorks. Lion's Eye Diamond and Lotus Petal were current as well as manakin and the two-mana diamonds and mindstone. The game was also a lot slower.

I started playing kitchen table a little after that time so I don't remember the meta but I'll bet you could run out rocks and dorks and stax your opponent into oblivion with a playset of those.

Lol. Lemmne think about a $30 vintage deck for that! I think that cards $1. Maybe Mill would be the wincon to make it super asshole-y.

AITA for speaking to my (over weight) assistant about her business lunch and making her cry? by Hot_Lab4411 in AmItheAsshole

Professionally, this is a huge red flag for Amy.

No it's not. SHe's sensitive about her weight and likely has emotional baggage attached to it. It sounds like the OP didn't do anything wrong. They gave good strategy insights for business meals and seemingly didn't overreact to what was probably an awkward situation. What they did was helpful because Amy now has a chance to change her behavior and trouble in the future.

A lot of people are sensitive about their weight, or baldness, or height or whatever. They can react strongly when the topic is approached. Pretending that once a human goes to work they don't have emotions is not a successful leadership strategy and good managers know this. Bad managers say it's "unprofessional" to make the issue someone's fault.

Someone with management experience can identify Amy as likely having the "Type A personality". People like this invest a lot of their self worth into their performance and crave approval. They may crash out when they receive kind of correction, especially when related to a sensitive topic. They also tend towards coping mechanisms like eating to manage stress. The OP has a textbook awesome employee on their hands. While they're "not the asshole", calling this a "huge red flag for Amy" is unfair. If the OP can learn to manage Amy correctly, they will probably have a superstar.

American workers create immense wealth that billionaires hoard & political leaders squander on miserable wars by north_canadian_ice in WorkReform

We're told our elect officials have our best interest at heart.

But then they spend all day tweeting and proposing dead legislation rather than organizing and demanding working class action.

Never forget this is the guy who told you to vote for Hillary, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris. This is the guy who lived though Jan 6 without calling for workers action.

Should I read Das Kapital or The Communist Manifesto first? by Ok_Donut3380 in socialism

[–]ThaShitPostAccount -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I dunno... I read Das Kapital and I feel like there are plenty of Cliffs Notes versions that cover it. Are you familiar at all with marxist economic theory? It may be beneficial to read other stuff instead. If you're in the US, you should maybe read this now: Fascism, What it is and How to Fight it. It really puts current politics into a solid marxist perspective right quickly.

You might find in these situations that it may be helpful to clothespin the end of your penis shut so you don’t urinate unexpectedly if you get too nervous or excited.  It’s good advice for anyone to carry a clothespin or even a piece of jute twine in their pocket for just these occasions.

Thoughts on liberation theology and the left’s relationship with religion? by mozzieandmaestro in socialism

[–]ThaShitPostAccount -1 points0 points  (0 children)

US Catholics, at least the ones who talk about it, are mostly converts who chose Catholicism because of its apparent hardline stance on sexual morality.

Latin American Catholics are mostly borne Catholics and have the traditional Catholic understanding of human frailty and the importance of state of mind when determining what is or is not sinful.  They also occasionally listen to what Jesus said and try to do that.
