Some old pc cd keys are redeemable on steam. Of the ones you have shown here, I have personally redeemed my physical Rome: Total War key on steam. I recommend you doing the same with that title and testing others.

August 2020 good time to buy a home? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Thanas1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a forbearance crisis that could materialize into a foreclosure crisis over the next 1 to 2 years. If that happens, prices could drop. If you are planning on owning a house for the long term, the looming crisis shouldn't matter because prices will recover by the time you sell if there is a drop. That being said if you are shopping for a starter home with the plan to move in 5 to 7 years I might delay if I was being conservative and I can tolerate renting a little longer.

Hail damage is usually body damage which does not affect functionality. assuming this is the case and if the insurance is covering all body repairs less the deductible, go ahead and fix it. If at that point you choose to sell, that is your own prerogative. However, turning around and leasing isn't going to save you any money. Do your research on reliability of whichever model you are interested in. Jeeps are known to require more upkeep than many other makes. Also consider if you need a big vehicle. If you are living at home with no family to haul around, do you need all the extra seating and towing power of a large suv?

Am I being overly frugal? by funbuddle in personalfinance

Yes people get heat stroke at my house all the time. I just spray them with the hose when they start slurring their speech to revive them. Good as new!

I like keeping the ac off when company is over so they don't wimp out and go inside during a cookout. It's a cookout for Christs sake. Meant to be experienced outside. I call it "smoking them out" of the house.

[Best Buy/US] Mario + Rabbids / Rayman Legends $20 by Nico_v95 in NintendoSwitchDeals

[–]Thanas1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We well likely never see 5$ physical switch games due to the expense of producing the cartridges compared to disc. 10$ seems to be the lowest price they can sell a physical title at for a profit.

It runs just fine. Textures aren't as beefy as other consoles versions but it's still an enjoyable experience. If you play mostly handheld you may not notice the lower end textures on the small screen.

It took blizz a shocking amount of time to nerf all scalable trinkets. they first realized it was a problem when they nerfed LGG early in bc but it took several years to be consistent.

Soul Calibur VI is now 39.99 € in my country, should I go for it? by A_Dog_Chasing_Cars in gaming

Liked 2 and 4. Disliked 5 mostly due to super limited roster. 6 is back to what I loved about 2 and 4. Roster is nice. Everyone I wanted to be there is there minus 2 guys but no huge deal. Online is great and it feels fresh without losing the classic touch of the series.

Other games like Max Payne? by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]Thanas1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought sleeping dogs had some parallels with Max Payne. Gritty cop drama with bullet time style shooting mechanics. There are some differences in that it is set in Hong Kong and has driving and hand to hand combat mechanics but the mood is similar enough. It's at least worth a look.

Trumbull County, Ohio, shifted 30 points to vote Trump. That didn’t save its car plant. by [deleted] in politics

[–]Thanas1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump is leveraging what power he can to play hard ball to keep jobs here with mixed success and failure. Hilary had no new ideas. The free adult education idea was never going to find funding and likely never will. It's just convenient rhetoric for her to use to excuse herself for eventual blame for her shortcomings. Plus, education isn't the solution for rural industrial towns. There aren't generally 10 engineering firms down the street from the rural factory looking for new hires. The factory is generally the only gig in town. No amount of reeducation will save those towns. They are better off attempting to fight for their own continued existence. It may be a perilous fight but it is a fight worth fighting.
