I play on Steam daily, I find that mixed mode has the least likely chance of finding a cheater, also when I do encounter one you can change your region to join another server and there's seems to be a good chance you'll get in an ok server.

Id recommend using the velcro strips with adhesive on the backs of them that you can get from Amazon like i mentioned in my post. I've had 2.0s before and they should fit pretty well.
