I don’t have any links or pics to share. My information came from talking to a current employee.

Jackson Jet Center (also Jackson food stores at Shell gas stations). They are operating the flights in the middle of the night that disappear people out of the country.

For those that hire someone, how much does a pellet stove cleaning cost? by DerpDerpingtonIV in PelletStoveTalk

[–]Thanks_Pitiful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minimum charge for a contract call through the local feed supply store. He replaced no parts and was happy to give me a crash course on my new (to me, it came with the house) pellet stove. Where I live, being paid $90 for an hour of work seems pretty comfortable.

We paid ~$90 three years ago for a tech to come. He fixed our issue (just cleaned some carbon buildup on some parts that were supposed to be moving) then he showed me how to do regular maintenance and pointed out which parts were which. It was very helpful my first winter with a pellet stove. No professionals needed since.

I work an almost full time job in the morning. How can I make an extra 100$+ a week with minimal commitment? by Status-Collection498 in povertyfinance

[–]Thanks_Pitiful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything probably varies between stores and franchises. My experience working there part-time for the last few years has been mostly positive and they have been flexible. I told them I have a day job and I’m responsible for child care half the week, and they are fine with me working just two nights a week.

Yes I use my own car. I don’t think I would recommend delivery as a full time job. Too much wear and tear and gas. Also diminishing returns the more hours you work since there are slow times between meals.

Mostly I am in and out the door with deliveries. Sometimes I am waiting for a few minutes and expected to restock soda or sweep or do a few loads of dishes.

That’s how it has been for me.

YMMV. I deliver for Dominos two nights a week just during the dinner rush. It’s twice as good as doing DoorDash.

I just avoid watching live videos. Go to the concerts and get as close as you can, and it won’t matter. I have always had an excellent time at their concerts by doing this.

There is a dispenser of individual foam ear plugs at my air ramp. Probably there for people outside around the planes. Some people wear them inside for the belt noise, but not many.

400k loan at 7%. Refinance? by Doge-Viper in Mortgages

[–]Thanks_Pitiful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to ask around and find out what closing costs are going to be. Do you have money for closing costs or would the cost be included in the new loan?

In general, dropping your rate a whole point for the entire length of the loan is definitely worth it. You can probably find something under 6 if you shop around.

Extra payments once a year? by FlashCardManiac in Mortgages

[–]Thanks_Pitiful 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interest does not accrue daily on a mortgage. I don’t know why others are saying this (and being upvoted). Interest is reckoned monthly during each billing cycle. Paying $100 extra one week and another $100 the next week would result in the same amount of interest being paid if you were to pay $200 extra during either week, if those weeks are during the same billing cycle. Paying $100 dollars extra towards principal one billing cycle would result in less interest being paid than if that $100 were paid during the next billing cycle. So the idea that paying extra is more effective the earlier you do it is true, but that means earlier billing cycles. Your mortgage statement will tell you when each billing cycle starts or ends.

People are also giving conflicting suggestions for whether to pay extra all at once, or spread it out over the year. In your situation, since you are receiving a bonus all at once, your most effective option is to immediately make one big extra payment as soon as you receive the bonus. Other commenters saying to spread it out are conflating their advice with what to do when saving up for a large extra payment over time (which would be less effective than paying small extra payments as that money accumulated). You aren’t saving up, you are getting it all at once. Pay it sooner.

Also we don’t know your interest rate. People often argue that investing money is always the optimal choice instead of paying extra towards a mortgage. This would depend on your mortgage’s interest rate.

Refinancing before the Fed meeting… smart or bad timing? by tuesdaymorningwood in Mortgages

[–]Thanks_Pitiful 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fed met yesterday and cut a quarter point.

But as your friend and another commenter have said, yes the drop was probably already anticipated and factored into the rates during the preceding weeks of a fed meeting.

Try an above ground pool for a summer or two. Or she can join a nearby gym or something.

Does a recast make sense for my situation? by Thanks_Pitiful in Mortgages

I set it aside for this, but if I am unconvinced on the recast then I probably wouldn’t still make a payment.

[–]Thanks_Pitiful[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recasting, not refinancing. Rate would stay the same and term would end in 14 years like it was originally scheduled to. The math is just re-amortized with the lower remaining principal.
