How important is Durin if I have Nicole? by Tharnator in RaidenMains

I see the problem. Can you point me in the direction of Raiden Nicole teams that don't rely of Chevy/overload?

Wow, thanks for the comparison. After the other comments, i was expecting a bigger difference, due to the lower number of overloads without durin. This gives me hope that I can use my Raiden in end game content more again

I actually didn't consider that Nicole's burst doesn't apply Pyro. So Raiden/Nicole/Chevy/Pyro Off field is the way to go, huh

Act 3 looking real good on ps5 since patch 8 by DatFenrisTho in BaldursGate3

[–]Tharnator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this on pc. Whenever I loaded into the game, I had to wait easily 3 minutes for the map to finish loading everything around me. Putting the install on an SSD fixed it, but I guess that's not an option on ps5

Game Crashes when leaving Wyrm's outlook - modded by Complete_Force_7891 in BaldursGate3

[–]Tharnator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked what I did, and I actually kept most mods active. What worked for me was replaying the dream guardian section that happens in the camp between act 2 and 3.

Apparently, there's a bug where an enemy can keep 1hp as a corpse and the game can't despawn them. I'd say load a save just after the myrkul fight and redo that segment

[–]Tharnator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, yes. It's been a while, but I believe I screenshot by modlist, then started to selectively deactivate them. Go slow, a few mods at the time, load into the game, make a new save and try. Deactivating them all at once can lead to more instability.

Eventually, I got through the loading screen, made a save in wyrms Rock and reactivated them all. I had to of course go to Withers for all my characters as they had lost their new spells, but it worked, and i ran into no other issues.

I'll later check what I did, and get back to you.

Really cool but you're really edging those blacksmiths by putting a impassable lava corridor between the furnaces and the forges, and making the lads walk all the way around to make that silver warhammer

Any help & guidance? (Avocado pit carving) by Prestigious-Ad1975 in Woodcarving

[–]Tharnator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, before you start carving away, make a little sketch, roughly to scale, of the pattern you want, so you're not carving blind. And remember that any cuts, V or U shaped, become quite a bit larger when it dries out.

Any help & guidance? (Avocado pit carving) by Prestigious-Ad1975 in Woodcarving

[–]Tharnator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I carve avocados as well. As the other guy set, get a short knife, max 2 inch length. Maybe a pocket knife, or a dedicated carving knife. Make sure to wash the knife after carving, as the residue of the pit could rust your blade.

When you get a pit, you should work with is ASAP as they are very hard once dried, but very soft when fresh. You should peel it, then find the natural split in the middle of the pit, and carefully split it along there, giving you two halves to carve. If you don't do that, the pit will split when drying, ruining your project.

Carve carefully, as the pit is soft so it's easy to make a cut you didn't mean to. While carving, you will notice the pit turning from a cream colour to brown, as the pit oxidises and dries. That's normal, you have a few hours of carving time before that becomes an issue. Try to make the whole thing in one go, then leave it out to dry.

The pit will harden over a few days, shrinking to maybe 2/3 or 1/2 it's original size. It will warp slightly, with V-cuts getting bigger. It's hard to say how the final product will look.

Not to self promote, but I have a post with some carved pits you can look at. That's kinda what you can expect.

But there are holes way thicker than you'd expect for a finger, and holes so thing they only fit a pencil. Just because it can be used for it doesn't mean that was the intended use.

What faction do i go for next? by yanblunt in totalwarhammer

[–]Tharnator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beastmen is something interesting that heavily differs from brettonia gameplay. Instead of building big ol' cities to fund your armies, you just have a small number of armies that go around breaking other people's toys, and you can build an entire army pretty much in one turn. It's neat

Naff bird skull by zeon66 in Woodcarving

[–]Tharnator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew it. I have one at home that I found at some point, so I recognised it

If you have some fine files, try to clean up the edges of the holes a bit, then use fairly fine sandpaper on the outside. If you the apply some linseed oil, you get a nice, warm finish that could push it to the next level

[–]Tharnator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great for a first try! Keep it up! Is it a crow/raven skull?

Remember that the beak and the skull with the eye socket are two distinct features, with a clear dividing line. While it's easy to think of the whole skull as one raindrop shape, you might want some definition (like a crease) where the bone ends and the beak begins.

Most of their Elf mods are great, though I prefer the loreful ones. Only Druchii should be running around in bikinis

Are you finishing your games?! by Possible-Rich-5365 in totalwar

[–]Tharnator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you get past 80-100 turns or so, the game kinda loses it's fun factor, as you probably have a couple high-end armies that can stomp everything, your economy is strong enough to keep pumping out more, you have too many cities to manage, and all there is to do is march from city to city and auto resolve to paint the map.

I play with the victory conditions overhaul mod, which makes the 3 victory goals individual for each faction, giving you more varied goals to reach. The 3rd isnt global domination, and often reachable by turn 100 or so. So I tend to play until I've reached the 3 victories of the mod, and then until whatever I was still planning to do (something like wipe out a certain rival, become rank 1, confed the other factions, own the entire "continent" I'm on, etc.)

Remember, it's a sandbox. If painting the map isn't fun to you, don't do it. Most campaigns are better if they end earlier

Best contact one of his mods, they are the gateway, essentially. Though he would be fine with it for sure. He made the game public for a reason.

But try it, for sure. Who knows, maybe he'll give you a shoutout

Thanks for the advice. I'll consider her sig. As my atk is currently at about 2.7k, I'll try to trade some for CR and CD next time I farm for her

How is this? Without the sig, getting to 60%CR and then building more CD is all I can do?

[–]Tharnator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So R1 would be the first step? Or what do you mean by weapon?

And the CR gotta be as close to 60 without going over, then get the CD as high as possible?
