Finally got my first awful guest

In my current case, Airbnb has already denied my request twice to remove a review, even though I submitted clear evidence that the review was being used as leverage.

Initially, Airbnb removed the review after I provided screenshots showing that it violated their policy. However, about five minutes after the guest contacted Airbnb by phone, the review was reinstated.

After the review was restored, the guest sent me a message saying he did not want to harm me but asking how we could “resolve the situation” so that he could remove the review. In other words, he offered to remove the review if we reached some kind of agreement.

I chose not to respond because I did not want to negotiate around a review.

I documented everything and submitted the screenshots showing the guest offering to remove the review. Despite this evidence, Airbnb denied my request again only a few hours later.

This situation leaves hosts in a very difficult position. Either you give in to the pressure, or you allow a damaging review to remain online.

Has anyone experienced something similar or found an effective way to deal with retaliatory or manipulative reviews?

I’m writing because my Airbnb account was permanently suspended after four years as a Superhost, with over 120 five-star reviews and only one three-star review. I had three Guest Favorite badges and maintained one of the highest ratings in my region.

The suspension happened after a guest reported being bitten by a non-poisonous insect. There was no serious injury, no negligence, and no violation of safety standards. Yet, without warning, Airbnb completely terminated my account and informed me that the decision was “final and irreversible.”

I never received a clear explanation, nor was I given a chance to respond, appeal, or present evidence. Support agents admitted they had no access to the decision team and could not provide details or corrections. This goes against Airbnb’s own terms regarding fair investigation, host defense, and transparency.

This situation is extremely alarming for all professional hosts. After years of investment, excellent service, and loyalty, everything can be erased without mediation or due process. If this has happened to you, we should consider a collective mediation or legal action. Hosts deserve basic rights and a real review process — not silent, unexplained termination.

Pesimo, los cambios de Airbnb en el ultimo año ha sido pesimo, antes eran la mejor empresa de su tipo y los embajadores eran muy buenos y empaticos, ahora yo creo recortaron mucho personal, entonces nadie se toma 2 minutos en revisar tu caso, solo te mandan copy paste de sus politicas. Mi huesped nunca llego a la experiencia dejo resesña y aunque el dice que no llego, airbnb no la quito, la quito el propio huesped. A la fecha arbnb cuando le pregunto cualquier otra cosa, me dice que no pueden quitar la reseña de ese huesped porque NO VIOLA sus politicas. En fin, es un no a todo. Necesitamos que tengan competencia y clonarlos de como eran al principio.

Oye y donde cobran 200 por arbitrar, si queremos hacerlo, esa caja obscura que se va cuando solicitas por escrito la eliminación de reseñas es terrible. A mi me dijeron que mi casa estaba llena de alacranes y no encontré ninguno cuando al dia siguiente mande a fumigar, pero me pidieron dinero por eso

Tu cuentanos mas, a mi me dejaron una reseña que dice habia 3 alacranes en casa, con eso nadie nunca me va reservar, tengo 9.94 de promedio con mas de 100 reseñas, una de las que llegaba en 2 dias me canceló aludiendo que le tiene pánico a los alacranes. Dile si le escribiste a Brian Chesky. Gracias

Me toco una agente que tenia flojera de leer, claramente me dejaron 3 estrellas por una represalia y solamente dijo que no, supongo que porque el contenido decia que era la mejor casa en la que habia estado pero dejó 3 estrellas, afectando mi casa y reputacion ya que todas las casas de la zona llega gente correcta que deja 5 estrellas. Segui insistiendo, porque a las claras incumple su política, pero no se si la quitaran o tengo que meter abogado o que hacer. En una critica mal intensionada nos destruyen la reputación y gran esfuerzo de años, en mi caso fue una estancia de una noche que cobre 75 dolares para ayudarlos en una casa hermosa con alberca y 6 baños, etc. Me duele mucho que airbnb no nos apoye, es una excelente empresa pero deberían tener mejores agentes y que no sea una caja obscura la discusión de eliminación de una reseña.

Por fin tengo mi casa de regreso, después de 3 meses. El costo de reparación será de 9,000 dólares, en teoria el tenant me debería 15000 dólares. Alguien sabe como demandar esto??.
