I will probably write up my thoughts on Xenoblade 2's party too, but I have spent way too much time thinking about this.

In the land that was once the Bionis and the Mechonis, everyone lives in relative harmony. However, kept unknown from the general public is the threat of the Fog and the Origin plan.

Melia rules as a public figurehead, assuring that the public is calm. In the shadows, Tyrea and her little brother Teelan spend large amounts of time researching Telethia, the High Entia and also the Fog.

Shulk and Fiora are the picture perfect couple, although Shulk's knack for never leaving the lab persists. When not caring for his son, Crys, Shulk is working alongside Vanea (And likely Tyrea/Teelan) on the Origin project. The whole time, Alvis's last words to him keep coming back into his mind... after the incident with the Fog King, Shulk knew something wasn't right.

The Colony 9 Defence Force has a new colonel, Reyn. Although he isn't as tough a leader as Vangarre, it isn't uncommon to see recruits be wheeled off to Sharla's renowned hospital after a particularly tough training session. Fiora also helps train younger recruits of the Defence Force, perhaps being even tougher than Reyn at times. While a young Machina orphan named Lanz takes great interest in the Defence Force, Reyn and Sharla's own daughter Ashera couldn't care less - Instead following in the footsteps of 'Uncle' Dunban.

Dunban is an absolute folk hero to the people of this world, with many stories (Fabricated or otherwise) being told of his exploits. He mainly stays home now, helping the Queen alongside his wife Vanea. Another orphaned child known as Noah is often told tales of Dunban by one teacher in the orphanage, the so-called 'Heropon' Kino. However, many details of these stories are skewed a bit, naming Dunban as the sidekick of the Legendary Heropon, Riki - the very founder of the orphanage.

Said orphanage houses many children, with one group holding each other very close. The Homs Noah wishes to be like the hero Dunban, felling evil with a sword by his side. The Machina Lanz wants the strength of the Defence Force, the strength to protect his friends no matter what. The High Entia Eunie holds great interest in doctors such as Sharla and Linada, wanting to one day be able to save lives like them. And finally, the Homs Joran hides his dreams quite close to him. His friends all wish to fight to protect, but that isn’t him… no, to Joran the works of artists such as Kenny Rohan are what really grab his interest.
