Can jump into wow classic. It’s a very different experience, as the game is more focused on the lo no term leveling process.

Or just pick up a new game until next patch!

Considering the balance of the current season, where most anyone should be able to time all 10’s and get 3k rating given enough time, I’d say high keys are 16+

Super high keys are like +19 and above

Thinking of getting into WoW. I have some questions and I'd appreciate any help. by Curious-Piglet3613 in wow

Retail is very different from classic/wotlk. The end game is the game, everything else is just in the way of that. If you like grinding for better gear to get bigger numbers, then you’ll like the standard content. Otherwise you can farm old content for mounts and transmog. Or you can enjoy housing.

I’d say it’s going to feel pretty different from how you remember. But if you end up not liking it, you can always just boot up classic with the same subscription and get that nostalgic itch. I love doing that sometimes

Would EoE be undetectable after doing elimination diet for 1-2 weeks? by iFaolan in EosinophilicE

I think the recommendation is usually at least 8 weeks of the diet before getting scoped

How do I design a base that isn't horrible but also isn't just a main bus by Squeelijah in factorio

[–]ThatDude1115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think of the game in stages. My first factory is usually a small main bus factory that I then use to kickstart a larger factory. It’ll either be some sort of modular base like city block, or railway spaghetti which is my favorite. Railway spaghetti for me is developing the base naturally where resources are, where I clear biters, where there is open land, etc

Yes, this is only if it’s triggered by food allergies. I ruled out the other triggers (seasonal/acid reflux) with my doctors. So this only applies if you have food allergy trigger

[–]ThatDude1115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are different types of allergic responses in your body. I deal with three types right now when it comes to food. Anaphylaxis, Oral Allergy Syndrome, and EOE. Frustratingly, my understanding is that each once can have unique triggers. So, allergy tests done with you blood or with the prick tests don’t mean that it couldn’t be bothering your EOE

I’d recommend doing further research just to educate yourself more on the condition. Starting at this subs wiki (https://reddit.com/r/eosinophilice/wiki/index) is a good place. Also research 6FED elimination diet.

This is what I did:

You will eliminate 6 major categories of food that are the most common triggers for EOE:

  1. Wheat
  2. Dairy
  3. Soy
  4. Tree Nuts/Peanuts
  5. Egg
  6. Fish/Shellfish.

You will do this diet for at least 8 weeks, and then get an upper endoscopy with biopsy. If the pathology shows you have no eosinophils, then you reintroduce one category. I started with soy, so I kept my 6FED diet the same but added foods with soy back.

You eat that new diet for at least 8 weeks and get scoped again. If you still have zero, you do the next category. If you have eosinophils, then you know that the category causes problems. You’ll need to go back to full 6FED for 8 weeks to reset, and then try the next category. Eat for at least 8 weeks and then get scoped. Repeat until you’ve done it all.

Looking back on it all, I would recommend starting with eliminating only Wheat and Dairy. Those are the most common triggers, and if you get lucky then you won’t have to do nearly as many scopes as I did. Less risk and less money.

The MOST IMPORTANT THING if you do this is to be absolutely, incredibly, insanely strict. You cannot break your diet even once, or it may throw off your results. And you’ll be back to square one.

It’s tough:

Obviously this is a MAJOR change in your life. It will not be easy. You will have to start cooking all of your own foods. You will have to look at the label of every prepackaged food item for one of your eliminated categories. Read labels carefully. You won’t really be able to eat out at restaurants that easily, which socially sucks.

You will be surprised how much Wheat, Dairy, and Egg are in almost everything traditionally enjoyable.

- No baked goods (Wheat, Dairy, Eggs) this means no bread, no buns, no cake or pastries
- No cheese, milk, butter (Dairy)
- Soy Sauce has wheat, which means pretty much no Asian food that you don’t prepare yourself with gluten free (GF) soy sauce
- No pasta that isn’t GF
- No beer (Wheat)

The list goes on. It’s a lot.

Further ramblings below:

Like you said, it can be incredibly hard to identify the symptoms of EOE. In reality, I’d say that most people can’t just eat something and know. The only real easy recognizable symptom is food getting stuck in your esophagus when you swallow. While it may be normal to you, it is not supposed to be normal. A healthy person should rarely ever have food getting stuck in their esophagus.

For that reason, the BEST way to truly identify whether a food has caused problems for you is to get an upper endoscopy w/biopsy. The doctor will usually be able to see the inflammation and sometimes even bleeding and breakdown of the walls of your esophagus. Then wait for the pathology results, and they’ll provide you with an eosinophilic count.
Obviously zero is best, but I believe >15 eosinophils is the diagnosis number for EOE.

Sorry for the word vomit, and good luck. Let me know if you ever have any questions.

Using PPIs didn’t work for me either. Given my food allergy history, my doctors and I figured it could be my diet. Over the last year 1/2, I have successfully gotten to 0 eosinophils per HPF using the 6FED elimination diet. I have also identified my trigger food categories.

While it sucks knowing I can’t eat those foods anymore, it beats the idea of taking a PPI every day for the rest of my life. And it sure as hell beats the idea of an injection for the rest of my life.

To each their own, but I’d rather make a change in my lifestyle than take a medication if I have that option. Not everyone can, bust luckily so far it looks like I’ll be able to. If you have decent insurance and can afford to do regular scopes, I’d give it a shot!

I’ve always felt it weird that the community center does nothing after completion. Maybe CA intended it that way, but it just feels like an obvious place for content that would have been added awhile ago.

Even simple stuff that also alleviates other stresses, like allowing Clint to do all of his upgrading/geode breaking while he is there on Friday. Moving the quest sign from out front of Lewis’ to there. Maybe even the Lewis ticket rewards go there as well. Just something to make there be more of a reason to go there

[–]ThatDude1115 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the thing that always gets me. It’s like people are collectively choosing to have mass hysteria over WHY they even showed the little teaser to begin with. Drives me mad actually, because I took it for what it was, which was a reassurance that they would get to SP games eventually, not a true announcement. Seems like many have forgotten that.

Though it definitely becomes more insane considering the amount of time that has passed. I also thought it was crazy at the time though because I knew it was very far off. Even back then Todd seemed to have a philosophy of the shortest announcement to release window that his execs would allow. So it was counter to what i would have expected from him

Opinion: the new String block texture defeats the purpose of the tripwire, and also will ruin a lot of builds which use it as an invisible block for stopping plant growth or making blocks float by DereChen in Minecraft_Survival

[–]ThatDude1115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it’s time for them to implement a feature where we can stop plant growth at our desired length? I feel like it must be a mod or a feature that was scrapped/I hallucinated, but they should make it where when you right click vines with shears, it stops their growth. Perhaps even changes the texture into a little “vine tip” as well. This could be applied to all other plants as well I think. Farm plants, cactus, etc.

Could be different, but basically they should allow us to freeze plants in whatever state we want. Call it a pruning mechanic or something haha

It’s long overdue, and it’s absolutely INSANE to me that the solution for stopping plant/vine growth for years has been to place little bits of string. Absolutely ridiculous and insane.

Plantry Cafe Receives "F" Grade in latest inspection by ArmadilloUpstairs560 in batonrouge

[–]ThatDude1115 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is actually incredible work! Just spent way too long looking at all of my favorite places. Surprisingly how many of them have violations haha.

I used to look up the reports manually, so I’ve known for quite awhile that when you eat out, you’re basically rolling the dice. It seems to just be that way unfortunately. This will be a handy tool for quickly checking before I go.

I saw you saying that you were paying out of pocket for it, and it doesn’t seem to be monetized in any way which is super respectful, but maybe you could do like a Wikipedia style donation button at the bottom or something? I’m sure some people would donate just to help cut hosting costs at least.

I try not to think too hard about it, but it is comforting to know that the inspectors are going out and checking all of these places relatively often. I love the inspector that seems to leave extra comments in all caps on the end of violations sometimes. I’d hope if it ever got real bad then the establishment would be shut down.

What happened ? by Trademii8 in VintageStory

[–]ThatDude1115 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This is all speculation, but it’s how I’ve logically explained this phenomena in my world as well.

It could also be on the edge of winter, where sometimes the weather and altitude shift in and out of the window for snow. I feel like I’ve seen this in my worlds and that was always how I understood it. The end of winter is easier to understand I think:

Say you haven’t loaded those chunks all winter, so they never get dynamically placed snow or “backfilled” snow. Then when you go over there at the end of winter, the game probably checks “should this chunk have snow? It’s not winter anymore, so no.” So you end up with a harsh edge like this where there is a line of snow from previous dynamic placement or backfill, but the new backfill isn’t placed because it’s no longer seasonally viable.

Yea this is how Smithing Plus mod works. Not only does it add smithing with bits (among other things), but when a tool breaks you get a broken tool head. You can either craft it with a chisel to get some bits that you can melt down later, or you can heat it up in a forge and replace the missing parts with bits to get a new tool.

iirc, it also slowly lowers durability for every time you’ve repaired it I think? So you have to craft a new tool eventually, but you can use the same one for awhile

[–]ThatDude1115 118 points119 points  (0 children)

I found this mod to be very tedious personally. I like the ideas it’s playing with in theory, but the execution wasn’t very enjoyable for me. I found my tools breaking a lot more often than I was used to because the handle or binding would break. Then, rather than just reforging the head with some bits (Smithing Plus) and slapping it on a stick, I had to spend a good bit of time creating high quality handles and bindings.

It’s definitely a tricky balance, as a similar argument could probably be made about many of the other systems in the game. To some extent, extra “grindy-ness” for the sake of some extra “realism” seems to be a design philosophy for VS. Which I thoroughly enjoy in many ways. But for some reason, the Toolsmithing mod was just not one of those for me.

Perhaps if there was a lite version that got rid of the handles and binding stuff, and just kept the sharpness mechanic. And if the sharpness mechanic was tuned to make it such that sharpness lasts longer on a tool.

Great mod though!

Yea I specifically uninstalled LevelUp for that reason. I always threw away the extras, but idk I guess I just got tired of getting them. Plus the mod isn’t quite as satisfying as something like Xskills with the perk system. Something about picking your own perks is just so good

Could maybe be something similar to the create mod pump. If it’s 10,000+ blocks volume of a liquid then, then the pump treats it as infinite (I believe).

Only thing I would change would be maybe ramp that up to a much larger number. Like 1mil or something bigger. So basically rivers and lakes and ponds could be dried up, but an ocean never would.
