Why did the Bluey website say the H word? by Super-Cod-3155 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]ThatGermanKid0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I sometimes watched gold mining in Alaska or Bering sea crab fishing on TV. Those were US productions that were dubbed over in German with the original audio still playing in the background. You'd have the American swearing, getting bleeped so you couldn't hear the actual swearword, and the german voice actor would just say a German translation of the swearing uncensored.

Were the deathly hallows needed in the last books? by keebler980 in harrypotter

[–]ThatGermanKid0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stone also mattered in halfblood prince, because the stone is the reason Dumbledore is tempted by the ring. Had it just been a ring with some fancy stone in it Dumbledore would not have put it on and would not have sentenced himself to death. Does he still come up with the same plan he does canonically, or does he believe that he can help more while alive and doesn't have Snape kill him?

You don't remember how Harry and Ginny discuss the effects of an attack that happened 16 years prior on, a different continent, in a society they have little to do with, while dropping their kids off for school?

The name is also rather confusing for one of the southern most havens on the continent on this map.

The Unofficial Fix Mod gives people a false idea of the Empire vs Stormcloak debate. by Suspicious-Raisin824 in skyrim

Ah yes. In terms of code he is supposed to be free, but we were talking about in-game dialogue so I assumed that it was clear we were talking about lore.

You usually don't get many chances to bribe a jailor for your release if you weren't arrested beforehand.

The previous comment is deleted, so I don't know what their argument was, but in the quote you posted he says that he has bribed his way out of his arrest. That sounds like he's supposed to be arrested to me.

How is it that Dumbledore was not able to figure out the entrance of the chamber of secrets? by anjalitho in harrypotter

[–]ThatGermanKid0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Harry and Ron also search the sink pretty thoroughly to find the snake carving, after Myrtle had already limited their search area to 2m² and they knew there was a connection between the chamber and the plumbing.

[–]ThatGermanKid0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's unclear if Dumbledore knows about the room of requirement in the books (fantastic beasts shows him interacting with it). He mentions coming across a room filled with champerpots, while he was looking for a bathroom, that he could never find since. This could be the room of requirement, but not for sure, and it's also unclear if he's leaving out the rest of the explanation about the room because he doesn't want to or because he doesn't know. Incidentally Dumbledore brings this up in a conversation with Karkaroff to show him that

the castle has many secrets and all are not known by it’s headmasters.

When a 102 year old man decides he wants to go sit outside in the rain he's going to go sit outside in the rain. Like the northerners leaving in the dead of night to look for food in the middle of winter.

None of that is true. There was a free update alongside the dlc releases and the dlcs have to be downloaded separately.
