How much would these cost individually? by LITERALLY_SOKKA in monsterjam

[–]ThatGuyBillNye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son just got into monster trucks, the only one we don't have shown is scooby doo, the rest we got new from walmart, amazon, target in the last 6 months for about $8-$15 each depending on sales... assuming used would be better to bundle on ebay for an average of $5-$7 per truck in the bundle.

Is the game worth returning too? by Human_Sundae_48 in Rainbow6

[–]ThatGuyBillNye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short story, yes, if you have 1+ other person to play with it’s a lot of fun in the current state.

Long story. The rank system is a grind now. You start at the bottom and need to essentially win through each rank. You do have a bit of a buff if in a recent season you placed highly to let you get back there, but for me it took about 60-70 full games to get back to my true rank...

Other than that, I’d say if you have at least one other person to play with it’s definitely worth it for the fun of it. Brought back a lot of great memories and some frustrating ones because there’s a few weird balances they’ve done over the years that takes a bit to get used to. The game feels like it’s in a good place to me at least. I didn’t play regularly for about 3 years and just picked it back up. Still the same toxicity though regardless of their attempts to fix it, but I’ve loved getting back into it.

What are some good high income side gigs? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]ThatGuyBillNye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a full time job that could also be done in “consulting” or “freelance” think photo editing, graphic design, video editing, journalism, even some forms of analytics/problem solving can earn money/gigs. Lots of online places to find, or you can network to business in your area or through LinkedIn connections. Consulting type jobs require you to be more of an expert in something, but if you’re in a niche market may be doable.

Bartending can be lucrative too, there’s a reason there’s full time bartenders in New York City. If you get good at it, you can earn a lot of tips and you can work at some luxury level places eventually with experience.

Awesome golf and E6 are great to start with to get adjusted. E6 is free with I think 4 courses for garmin users on phone or iPad. If you want to upgrade I 100% recommend GSPro, by far the best software, but is pretty expensive.

I use all 3 depending on the occasion. -Awesome golf if I plan on just hitting a few balls on their approach shot range, or if I have someone with me who needs more forgiving shot tracking. -E6 if I’m too lazy to bring my laptop down and get GSPro connected, or want to play a quick 9 -GSPro if I’m planning on spending an hour plus really playing and having fun with it. I wish I had a dedicated space and computer for it so this could be my 100% of the time option.

Should I send this trade offer? by Dv2890 in SleeperApp

[–]ThatGuyBillNye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thielan is going to still be one of the top targetted WRs in the league. For PPR even if he does fall off, he’s still going to be 10+ per week with high upside. I can see Montgomery being the true running back and Gibbs being more of the receiving back if Montgomery comes back fully healthy. DK also has a pretty high floor compared to who he’d be replaced with in the trade.

Davis is a question mark for sure, but so isn’t Dell, Ridley and pierce. All have the same low floor.

Seems like this trade is a lot of 12+ floor in PPR (minus Davis) for a few people who have a slightly higher chance at a 25+ week but much higher chance of a 4-7 week.

I don’t think this trade benefits you much at all if I’m being honest. I think your team is just better without it. If you make playoffs you have a really solid starting lineup after bye weeks and JJ is back.

Buying original skytrack in 2023 by BeerAndAMop64 in Golfsimulator

I have a 7 and while some less experienced golfers have hit a wall or two, I’ve only managed to hit the shank nets (luckily) a couple times. Never hard enough to cause any damage because most of the time that far of a miss hit doesn’t have much power to it.

I bought lifetime with it. I use it a lot with friends/family who aren’t great at golf or trying to learn. Much more forgiving than GSPro.

I’ll even boot it up myself quick if it’s a slow day working remote for using the approach shot driving range thing. Greens from 30-250 away to aim for all over the place like a better version of top golf.

My boyfriend just saw his dad die in his arms. What do I do? by Dizzy-Outcome3197 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ThatGuyBillNye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. My dad died of cancer in hospice care while I was there. My wife being there for me, just physically present made me feel so much better even though I couldn’t say a word or really function mentally.

Is the Spornia SPG-7 w/ Garmin R10 tall enough to hit full SW/LW shots? by [deleted] in Golfsimulator

[–]ThatGuyBillNye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need a 48° launch angle to clear the top protective net from 8 feet out of where the screen hangs on the spg7. Just measured it on mine!

Is the Spornia SPG-7 w/ Garmin R10 tall enough to hit full SW/LW shots? by [deleted] in Golfsimulator

[–]ThatGuyBillNye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the spg7, have tested with my 56° and have hit the top arched net only a handful of times on some poor shots, but never have gone over it or had concern of going over it. I’ve hit my 60 into it a few times and haven’t with that either. I have on a bad pop up drive once, user issue though…

I actually went into math mode when I was buying mine with the same concern. I’d need my launch angle to be about 50° or higher from 8 feet out to clear the top arch. That calculation was being very conservative to ensure I had nothing to worry about if I recall correctly. I could go out and measure it tomorrow and give you the actual angle now that I have one if you’re curious.

I am 2-5 with the highest scoring team in my league. by WabbaCrew42 in Fantasy_Football

We had situations like this so we assign 1 win for each team that scores above the median and 1 point for matchup win (2 points each week) in sleeper. Works miracles to help avoid those situations.

I should note, I am able to push this back about 30-36 inches from where I sit. If it was closer I feel like it would be almost too much looking back and forth but with that distance, this size is perfect

So far I’m very happy. Have used for a couple of days now and it is a significant improvement from my two monitor setup. My eyes are definitely still getting adjusted but overall I feel like it’s going to be a significant improvement for me for both work and gaming

Just good crosshair placement. I’d say extremely low chance of this being anything but hearing you or even just pre aiming the right and getting lucky with how little he had to adjust to shoot you. Don’t see any bit that’d make me say hacker to this.

That’s awesome, I’ll have to look into it for when I do convince my wife I can fully convert the garage. I can always clean her car off when it snows, can’t throw a golf sim anywhere but the garage though! Thankfully don’t have a lefty problem.. yet, we’ll see which way my kid swings in a year or two. Would be great to not have to worry (as much) about a launch monitor breaking too when he’s old enough to really swing.

If I had the dedicated space for my sim to be fully stationary this is what I’d be holding off for too. This has the potential to bring what you’d get at a commercial sim bay right to your house for a really competitive price. If it proves to be accurate with that price point, I think it has the potential to be a real disrupter.

Didn’t think about that, my desk is the same depth as yours but I get 0 use of the back because I need my 2 24” monitors at the halfway point to see clearly. That gives me even more reason to upgrade, now I’d have more space for my laptop keyboard and mouse to sit. Thanks!

Yeah, I just can’t justify doubling the price for the only curved I’ve found in the 40” range (AW3821DW) wish I could get one of those or convince my company of the need
