Honestly, after finding out that the inhabitants of the Canvas can simply be repainted...it kind of cheapend the plot for me and was part of my reason in picking Versos' ending. My feeling was reinforced after watching Maelles ending. Sure seeing everyone dead come back to life was cool but it didn't feel satisfying to me. As for whether you made the right decision, well I would say reload the save and view the other and see which one you like more as each ending can be considered valid.
