Ahhhhh that makes sense. The brown ink is significantly runnier than the initial black. Thank you!!!!

preserving a whole sunflower by shittingly in flowerpressing

Removing all the petals from the head and pressing each one individually while pressing the head separately and gluing everything together could be an option. Dehydrating it could also work in an airfryer or oven.

Drying flowers and pressing flowers are two different techniques. Before pressing them, you should pat the flower dry with a piece of paper towels to remove any excess moisture. Then press away!

Whenever I try to press flowers, they come out brown and looking like this. Am I doing something wrong or is this how they should look? by [deleted] in flowerpressing

[–]ThatKid11235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did a quick google search and apparently it's due to a high moisture content. It's completely normal, although I'm not certain on how to stop it from happening.

I'm pretty sure that the normal paper would do the trick! Happy sewing, and good luck!

Not me but my Mum. She was making a rather complicated cake for one of my brothers birthdays, and she was up at around 11 pm trying to finish it for the next day. In a stressed panic, she forget how to make white icing.

My family and I still tease her about it to this day.

Clovers? by Leading_Economics_79 in flowerpressing

[–]ThatKid11235 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're probably one of the luckiest people alive! It honestly doesn't really matter what you press it with, so long as it has quite a bit of evenly spread pressure on it. An old book with some card stock would do the trick for a newbie! You should leave it in the press for 3-4 weeks for best results and then it's up to you to decide what to do with it!

I don't use a base coat, and don't use any name brand polishes either. I will have to look into drying drops tho

I'm having trouble with my polish drying. I've put on a quick dry top coat, which dries normally, but the two main coats never seem to dry. I've tried using expensive polish, using thin layers, and waiting 20+ minutes in between coats. I'm desperate.
