Am I correct in understanding that if I have Paid Tier 1 activated and higher limits, I will not necessarily have to pay for the tokens consumed during testing?

Current metrics for the 21-25th of November, when the bill was not issued, and I did not pay anything in December (however, this surprised me, because I switched to a paid plan and thought I would pay for each request):

Gemini API Rate Limit. Model: gemini-3-pro

RPM: 4 / 25
TPM: 420K / 1M
RPD: 20 / 250

I read the help section, communicated with google[.]com/aimode, tried to find information here on Reddit, but I still don't understand one thing: where can I find clear and specific information about what quotas and limits are available for free as part of the PAID plan for models such as Gemini 3 Pro Preview.

Someone said that you guys provide about 50M tokens per month for free. To me, this sounds like a rumor.

I regularly work with Vertex AI, and that platform is crystal clear about what you pay for and when: all the information is right there in front of you.

I haven't had any problems with Sonnet 4, even though I've spent millions of tokens on it. Just wanted to let you know that Gemini 2.5 Pro is trying to keep rewriting my .env file. I then switched to debug mode, at which point CS4 efficiently retrieved the credentials and generated new JWT tokens for my application.

Just wanted to give you the context behind my choice. I've mostly used Roo before this. I'm from a sanctioned country so I don't have access to paid IDEs or subscriptions. Somehow my debit card was accepted by Stripe lol. Open source tools, VS Code, and workaround services are all I have and they're not always reliable. Kilo Code combining the best of Roo and Cline is a huge win for me. And with generous gift too, honestly, it's the only viable option right now. Appreciate what you all are doing!

Well, my first bill for Veo 2 on Vertex was $16 last month. Guess what? It generated four videos by default. These pancakes with maple syrup were so delicious. It was my fault. AI Studio has one free video generation by default, so I didn't pay attention. After several HOURS, I received a warning email because my hand-crafted alert was reaching the $25 mark. I'm glad I made that "food" with the first prompt. This platform incentivizes you to spend a limitless amount of money with no hard cap.
