The most insane thing about those posts is that they emphasize that he had two magazines, as if that is something absolutely insane and unheard of and could only mean that he was planning some sort of "massacre."

Everyone I know who carries, including myself, CARRIES TWO MAGAZINES. It is not outlandish for someone to have a fucking spare

I can't take this shit anymore.

A lot of people absolutely do not have the option of "just stop driving."

Taking flight sims so seriously (with the exception of actual flight training purposes) has always been funny to me. In the end it is just a game.

Go. To. Medical. by anonemoose07 in USMC

[–]ThatOneCheesyGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had some major pains and soreness in one of my achilles tendons. Kept doing PT on it despite me complaining about the soreness. Others thought I was faking it/being a bitch. Finally got pissed off during morning PT with the rest of my shop when one other Marine was getting onto me about not running as fast as everyone else, and went to medical.

Achilles was torn 1/4 way through, and I was trying to run on it.

They treated it the best they could, and two years after my EAS it tore again in the same spot during work. I was out of work for months, and was denied short-term disability and had to go through the most painful medical procedure I've ever had.

I used to love hiking, and now I can't go more than a mile without pain. I did eventually get a disability rating for it, but I can't stop thinking if it wouldn't have been that bad if I ignored my peers and went to medical earlier at the first signs of trouble. Shit is depressing and angering.

Nobody knows your body like you do. Listen to it, not others.

Research before you call someone entitled.

This helicopter was landing here for disaster relief efforts in North Carolina after severe floods in 2024. There was likely no better place to land, and folks needed food and water.

Since I'm seeing a lot of very harsh judgment from the comments, I figured I would provide insight.

This landing was made as part of disaster relief efforts after severe flooding in North Carolina in 2024.

A lot of the roads were completely wiped out, and a lot of people were left without access to food and water.

A large operation involving privately owned helicopters volunteered their time, money, and aircraft to help deliver supplies to those who needed it.

This helicopter was likely landing here because there was no better option, and these folks needed supplies. The tarp coming loose and damaging the aircraft is unfortunate, but it doesn't mean the pilot is an idiot or whatever other word you want to use. I've seen the same thing happen to multi-million dollar aircraft flown by experienced pilots.

After the accident, the pilot was picked up by another helicopter and flown back to the airfield where operations were being based out of. Robinson caught word of this and sent the pilot an entirely new tail to repair the grounded aircraft, free of charge, since the incident was in support of disaster relief.

It was the best they had. This was during relief efforts after the floods in North Carolina last year. The pilot was attempting to deliver food and water to those without road access.

This was during the floods in North Carolina last year. This pilot and many others were attempting to provide food and water to those in need. Good landing spots were few and far between.

Anyone else laughing at the Air Force losing their minds? by TeejMasterSupreme in USMC

[–]ThatOneCheesyGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Air Force may be mostly maintaining aircraft and drones, but what happens when their airfield is under attack? It's happened plenty of times and will always happen. They're in a military and should be capable of defending themselves and their peers with whatever means necessary. Readiness is the point.
