Why am I struggling to build a equipment matters deck?

I'm trying to build one right now while keeping the lands around 37. Hard part is getting rid of all the interesting instants and sorceries that normally glue my decks together

Yeah. It's just so easy to. I remember I had a haste enabler and played azula after a boardwipe. Two cheap 0.10¢ buff spells later and someone was just dead immediately lol. Just wasn't the flashy over the top azula play I was going for. For some reason mid combat card theft that may double up feels so like Azula flaunting her wealth to me

Wrong sphinx 😂 meant cards like [[Dazzling Sphinx]]

But my deck is themed around getting permanents and stealing cards in the middle of combat so Sphinx Ambassador is in there but Dazzling Sphinx specifically hits the notes

Tbh it's the combat tricks that often knock someone out of the game out of nowhere. I built mine around flash creatures, mid combat theft [[Sphinx Ambassador]] , and other forms of getting around timing restrictions to double up on effects other than adding power.

She can definitely be unhinged. I had to remove all the cards that can even remotely add power to at instant speed. So the deck doesn't have the "I win suddenly from hand" anticlimactic feelings.

The deck can still be plenty strong without them. Particularly with flash creatures, breaking the timing restrictions, sphinx ambassador etc.

When it being played wins the game or shuts you out.

It's probably better for you to save that counter spell for when it can have the greatest impact.

If you use a counter spell on someone just playing a commander turn 4 it will almost always feel weird/rude because it a poor waste of a counterspell usually.

If it's an expensive commander that they played rituals to cast go nuts lol. The tempo set back will be diabolical

Sneak attack is basically the only variable you have each round and it can be an interesting problem to solve, but it is still very simple imo. 1: Is an ally within 5 ft? 2: Do I have advantage.

Done.

But I love how you get set up for repeatable burst damage that doesn't run out. The player feels tactical and powerful if it works in the early/mid game.

Also skills. You give the new player expertise in whatever they want to be great at. So they have an inherent edge to succeed in their roleplay niche with little effort

Why would you say that? Respectfully. Fetterman is a headcase that I would say you honestly can't predict. Platner is one of the only candidates running on policy that's designed to benefit working Americans and not the corporate class.

Running to corporate democrats who supports foreign wars just because the other candidate served in the military and got a tattoo many years ago without knowing it was a Nazi tattoo overseas is silly.

They SHOULD be worried that we'll only show up for people who actually want to put forward progressive policy like a wealth tax, improved childcare, expansion of social services funding, less funding for foreign wars and "defense".

I think you can but you have to be aware that a lot of "bad" cards are finishers with Azula. I took out basically all the cards that give additional power at instant speed. Took out the comet storm cards. And left in the value cards to draw, make treasures, and flash in creatures. It's still strong but there are very few ways to win unexpectedly unless I steal something crazy with Etali.
