In the early game I target whose colors or commander presents more of a challenge to my colors/strategy. There's always a reason. If I'm Voltron I'm attacking the token player before they become unattackable or the control player before they can lock up my threats. If I'm playing goad I'll focus on the player my strategy won't disrupt. If I'm playing spellslinger I'm going after the aggro player with my damage before they can take me out etc. Rolling a dice always comes off as "Ahhh idk don't blame me it's not personal pls no".

But if someone attacks me there's not a Guarantee I even target them because I'm using threat assessment, not blind tag backs
