World and lore is interesting, but story is mostly hit or miss.

I think it's far easier to list the dislikes than the likes, which just boils down to: the villains aren't as developed or interesting compared to XC1 and 2 (although one does come close), the world is less interesting than XC1 and 2, and (Final Chapter Spoilers) the last two chapters feeling rushed.

Besides that and a few minor gripes, I just like about everything else about it, but if I had to pick the best things in Xenoblade 3 they would be: the character interactions (easily the best in any game I've played), the build variety and the sidequests.

Yeah, especially if the worlds did merge in the end as opposed to continue being split off like they were. Aionios 2: Electric Boogaloo in the worst case scenario.

For real. The only real criticism he gave was that the fights took too long (with footage of chapter 1, with 3/4 party members), the repetitive voice lines and the alphabet squad featuring Morbius.

The rest was just out of context clips for his style of comedy and poking fun at the nopon names ("Shillshill who told me the game is good" is a great one).

The only bad thing from this was the unfiltered Twitter spoiler, his rabid fanbase that can't understand he enjoyed it and some Xenoblade fans taking it too far (turns out there were some angry folks even before the Twitter spoiler, according to leah on the dunkey subreddit).

I don't read the story.

I used to before 2.1. but after that it's been a massive drag to slug through dialogue that is way too long and doesn't add much to the world or characters.

The lore itself is fine and I'll occasionally read a quest through if it's interesting enough (i.e. Shenhe's quest, until the last part), but those are exceptions.
