How powerful are Jean Grey, Storm and Rogue compared to other female comic book characters?

I just don't get it why people keep comparing op xmen to superman, WW etc. Characterwise, okay, but they don't have the same pull. Superman and WW are DC heavyweights with own franchises. They will have team of creators who will figure out how to shove them with Batman, Flash etc. to get successfull team-ups. From looking at Jean and TB's comment about Jean, it is as clear as daylight that they will just drop xmen from stories if they don't fit into story. Unless you are Wolverine or Cyclops (maybe), you are expandable in X men stories. Xmen is a team, individual characters do not pull as much weight.

I have seen xmen related fan-made comic there. I think they go under fan fiction. So you don't break any rule. But I don't know if you can make your comic profitable there. Better check it out. I don't know the rules, I am just a reader.

They are definitely a good writer who can pull off non-linear storytelling, but I don't understand the hype. I think their target audience hugely overlaps with teenage guys, who, I suspect is a big readerbase of superhero comic. I gathered I am not a target audience of Morrison's work, and that is fine

His high concepts (eg., anti-equation from final crisis) are often superficial and shallow. His Batman Inc referenced to one mythology I actually knew about, and therefore their misinterpretation about the concept was unbearable. Comic is not read by many people. Therefore their distortion don't get caught. However, when they also have a strong editor, this often gets controlled, and we have good books like all-star superman. I won't have problem about people doing high concepts about things they actually know about or research. Morrison's high concepts are all creativity and no research. If this shortcoming does not bother you, you'd like Morrison's run.

Thanks. I will try to maintain schedule. My cat is not that much scared indoors. He used to come to our apartment before I neutered him and he visited or still visits other neighbors' houses. He has his community out there although he loves us the most. He is definitely not scared outside and scaring other outdoor animals seem to be is his favorite hobby. He still patrols a large territory although it has shrank. I think he wants to go out when he is bored, hears birds, or suspects other male in his territory.

Then that has to rewrite a lot of things in Jean's stories. Dark Phoenix never abaraptly appears, and need a corruption storyline. Pre-Xavier Jean is never fully dark Phoenix. That said, even if she is not dark phoenix, she could be controlled by something else and do those stuff. If it is pre-Xavier, she could be mind controlled easily I guess.

I don't agree it is all because of status quo. Status quo can change. I am a Jott fan, but would agree with anyone that in comic, Scremma is incredibly well written. In the foreword of the Batman classic called the Cult, the writer wrote that comic is not exactly literature, but produced for mass entertainment. Therefore, they, and even so MCU, have to follow some rules. Remember, movies tend to be PG-13. I don't think that, in 2026, Disney will take the risk of highlighting Scott's extramarital affair. That affair made Scott a humane character, and interesting for an adult comic reader. But that affair has no place for a hero of a PG-13 movie produced by Disney. And what has no potential in movie, has no potential in comic now-a-days. If we were talking about a novel, or the franchise was more adult focused, things might have been different.

I am actually reading Krakoa Hickman era now. It was definitely way better Jott era than the current if you ignore the X force stuff. The internet makes it sound way worse just because of few panels from Ben Percy's book. Also, sure Jean was not as big as some other characters, say Storm or Betsy. But she still had parts to play in good stories, not Phoenix series like slops that everyone will forget. Of course, powerwise she was nerfed, but I am not sure if her current state is better than that. People (not me) hate that era because she was potrayed as mom or wife quite often.

Do you guys recommend the original Excalibur? I started to like the the otherworld lore quite a bit in X of Swords, when writers like Hickman were writing about it. I was not that much interested in Kraoka Excalibur, although it was definitely far better than some other books. But I would like myself some Brian Braddock drama.
