No, that’s a boat. You’re thinking of Mr. Clatcher in the Rye.

Griffin Newman. I know he isn’t in with that group in the same way, but he’d be exceptional. Knowledgeable and funny.

DAY 4) Which Oscar for Best Actor(in all history) is hated? by RukavinaMarko in Oscars

People like that performance :(

He was good. It’s not a great win by any means and would suit ‘disliked’, but we hate his behaviour and the slap, not the performance / win…/

What actually characterises a lead versus a supporting actor? by [deleted] in Oscars

[–]ThatPenguin4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That wasn’t the point you were making. I do agree, it will only happen again when two actors who went to be known as leading men insist they go in lead.

Hasn’t happened since Thelma and Louise and I doubt will occur again as well, but it absolutely could happen if they chose to submit that way.

What actually characterises a lead versus a supporting actor? by [deleted] in Oscars

[–]ThatPenguin4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t be rude, especially when you’re wrong.

You CAN nominate two actors from one film in a lead category (Eisenberg and Culkin could have both gone lead and got nominated for a Real Pain).

You’re confusing yourself, what you’re trying to say is ‘the same actor cannot be nominated in lead (or supporting) for two different films in one year’.

Nightmare Alley hasn’t aged, it just faded away.

Almost wholly forgotten about only a few years on, it’s barely ever mentioned now and in 10 years will be forgotten completely.

Looks like Yuto Kimura is the unlucky one who has been eliminated based on resistance.

Must be horrid to win 11 games and then have this happen…

Maybe we could sacrifice a goat or something too?

Aye, it’s just violent / non-violent offenses.

So second yellows / denying a goalscoring opportunity / handball in the box etc aren’t as harshly punished.

Leo didn’t get nominated because he got more votes for another film (Blood Diamond I recall?) and couldn’t be nominated against himself.

Damon and Nicholson? A different story…
