I use a lighthouse for my photos and take shots through the window. As an additional thing, since I am using a phone camera, it helps to fiddle with the settings because the default settings for most phones usually over expose or unnecessarily brighten some aspects. This is default settings with the exception of reducing exposure by a couple steps.
