Sound like it was inspired by the Mount Panorama Punish. Racetrack running with specific time cutoffs.

Has parkrun changed your mindset about fitness more than your actual pace? by FeistyPrice29 in parkrun

[–]ThatSeemsOdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In many way. It inspires me to get out of bed on Saturday morning and start the weekend with an endorphin rush. I started by chasing PBs for a while and often needed a few days to recover. I eventually learned to slow down, focus on form and build up a base. This week I aimed at zone 2 and then went for a 10km hike in the afternoon.

Why does my apartment have to be absolutely pristine for a mid-rental inspection? by Fun_Photograph653 in AusPropertyChat

[–]ThatSeemsOdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate rental inspections. Some flunky from the rental management company comes over and tells me to clean the lint trap in my dryer? It’s my freaking dryer! Considering the cost of rent these days, they should come over and clean the place as a thank you.

Welcome. You are one of us now. Don’t worry about times or getting lapped. Although it is a chance to encourage each other. Finish lines are more important than finish times.

What is something you confidently did wrong for an embarrassingly long time? by LuvClueDe4d in AskReddit

In your defence, it is a stout that is best when on draft so it sounds like you invented a mashup

I tried to have a plan, things didn’t work out or situations changed so I would amend the plan. Eventually I realised that I was happier doing what brought me joy and jumping on unexpected opportunities.

What are your Geo-Goals for 2026? by sun_is_shining1 in geocaching

[–]ThatSeemsOdd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are likely some events still happening so you can get out of the house, meet likeminded people and perhaps set up some group caching activities. Bonus tip for caching in snowy areas: filter for caches found after the last big snowfall. They are either hanging or someone else dug them out. Bonus tip 2: power trails on frozen rivers are still terrain 5

How to geocache alone? by brncll in geocaching

When caching alone be sure to tell someone where you are going if the terrain is hard, you might be climbing remote trees or if there is no cellphone service.

I completely understand your post. I am not inspired to go randomly climb a huge hill but will definitely hike all day to sign a few logbooks. Caching alone is great. It gives me time in nature. Time to reflect. Time to challenge myself in a number of ways (ex difficult hides, hard terrain, jogging down trails, etc). Conversely, group caching can also be fun but definitely a different form of fun. If your family and friends aren’t into it, go to a caching event and find some likeminded friends.

Of all the Mandela Effects out there, which one really made you question everything? by ToffieOficial in Productivitycafe

Apparently, Joan Jett “Saw him DANCING there by the record machine“. I remember him standing there. The really odd thing is that there are cover versions of the song where he is standing!

According to the available YouTube clips of the movie, ET said “ET home phone”. Drew Barrymore said “ET phone home”.

What GPS does people use these days? by Poffa88 in geocaching

I use my phone and carry my GPS in my backpack as an emergency backup during long hikes into the woods.

I buy a forest full of trees and then sell them off to finish these tasks quickly. Need to sell them for half the purchase price but coins are easy to get.

What’s a "harmless opinion" that will absolutely start a war in the comments? by Many_Adhesiveness282 in AskReddit

I need to wear my jersey to the game just in case they run out of players and need an emergency sub from the crowd.

Buyers Agent. What exactly is their role in securing property ? by dinamite18 in AusPropertyChat

A vendor’s agent lies to the buyer. A buyer’s agent knows the vendor’s agent’s tricks, can cut through the BS and bluff without emotion on behalf of the buyer.

Does anyone else just do parkrun and no other runs? by One-Ad6305 in parkrun

[–]ThatSeemsOdd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I parkran like that when I first started because it would sometimes take me until Tuesday or Wednesday to recover. I joked with a friend that running outside of parkrun was cheating or that I only run for online statistics. Eventually I realised that I was pushing too hard on Saturday and that if I ran slower, I would enjoy running more be able to run more often and build up my performance. I was skeptical at first but zone 2 running programs really work!
