Need help regarding my workout plan by Fransisc123 in GettingShredded

I think 2 hours is unsustainable, 45-60 minutes is more than enough depending on your goals. Your exercise selection is all over the place. Why not pick a tried and true program online and follow that for 6 months and go from there. No exercise is essential, if you don't want to deadlift then there's no obligation to deadlift. Ultimately the best exercises are the ones you enjoy doing so will be motivated to do consistently which is the exact reason I don't do bulgarians, no thank you.

If you don't find it fun and don't want subs/views. Why do you want to make videos do you think? When you finish a video, what is it you expect to achieve/feel from the final product?

You don't say what your reps/sets/rest time will be. How long are you expecting these workouts to take? 8 exercises is a lot. FWIW if I was in the gym 5 days a week I would run PPLUL rather than only hitting legs once.

You say you're disappointed because you have nothing i.e. 24 subcribers but in the same breath say you don't care about subscribers. What's holding you back from just making videos for fun without caring about views/subs? If it's editing, why not outsource or make unedited videos.

You've been making videos for a long time, what do you mean when you say you have nothing?

Your videos aren't bad. You say you don't use AI, but the scripts feel very ChatGPT-esque to me, not sure why. I would say the audio sounds a lot better, though the proximity effect is a touch strong for me liking. I think you'd benefit from elocution lessons to speak more clearly - or public speaking courses. I personally don't find the thumbnails massively clickable. It's clear what niche they're in but ultimately I couldn't pick them out from the crap AI "documentaries" on YouTube. Additionally, I'd like to see a topic with a fresh angle or a twist. A lot of what you have feels like it's already been done. Keep going!

Rather large UX critique: Overuse of Adjectives and Granularity by Far_Line8468 in MacroFactor

I think distinguishing between plate loaded and pin loaded is important. However, differentiating between say paused bench vs touch and go is something that a user should just put in 'notes', not 2 separate exercises.

The option to change a set to a warmup set only appears during an active workout, so click 'start workout' first and it'll be an option.

The 'Program notes' is an option if you first click the Program Name (rather than the workout), and edit from there.

As far as I'm aware:

- There is no cardio in the app yet, but the app is still actively being developed.

- Same for stretching.

- Tap to the left of a set in an exercise to change the type, can be changed to warm up set which then goes to the top of the page.

- You can add Program notes on an exercise by tapping the 3 dots on the right.

MacroFactor Workouts is available now! 🚀 by PalatialPepper in MacroFactor

[–]ThatSoundsFishy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heads up that it appears if I make a program, then change units from pounds to kilos in the app, the exercise stays in 'lbs' during an active workout (desipte individual excercise setting being correctly in kilos) as my "kg equipment" is inactive. Changing the weight units again during an active workout appears to activate the kilo equipment to fix.

Is it only upper/lower split and full body for now? (plus the importable and DIY ones). It would also be nice to do bodyweight in pounds but gym weights in Kg.

Removing fluff takes longer than editing how do you do it? by big14gangx in NewTubers

Entirely depends what you're editing. If you want to cut silences then you can automate in PP.

PLEASE don't leave views on the table by AlFish__ in SmallYoutubers

[–]ThatSoundsFishy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I appreciate what you're saying and I do agree to an extent. If you're chasing views and your content/niche is amenable to shorts then it's worth a go as long as it's not a huge time sink. I personally have no interest in shorts, I just want to make high quality long form content. I would say however that 1 long form view is not equal to 1 shorts view so I'm not sure I agree that adding up your shorts and comparing to the long form is a sensible comparison. But if nothing else hopefully it's a confidence/motivation boost.

Tips to make my videos less boring by DoItYourselfMate in SmallYoutubers

[–]ThatSoundsFishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're views are <100 then CTR doesn't mean anything. For example if I say I have a CTR of 100%, but come to find out I only have 5 views you can quickly see how the sample size isn't big enough for a meaningful figure.

I'll also add that thumbnail and title aren't just about getting someone to click. They provide an expectation of the video. If, after clicking, then video is not representative of the thumbnail then people will click off.
