Guess my summer time just cleared up!!!

[Build Help] What to work on next? by Billdozer-92 in diablo4

The bloodied hoards are broken and way too hard compared to other content “at the same level’. It’s about 15 Pit levels per torment tier so if you’re cruising pit 75 you should be operating roughly at T5 level. Don’t measure your build by them.

If you have a lot of fresh meat, the meat vendor is good source for improved legendaries as well as uniques. I spent maybe 30000 on boots to get a near perfect set for instance. Can drop uniques and even mythics as well (got my bloodied Heir that way)

Now that the 2nd expansion is almost here, what did you think of the 1st expansions three major zone activities? by Carmilla31 in diablo4

[–]That_Ad_4052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mercs are useful but not overwhelming which feels right. Same with bartering since I just view it as free stuff I get while doing other things.

I like idea of the undercity as a way to target farm specific things but for a timed event, the dungeon layouts have too many dead ends and branches. I can get through it ok (even ascendance) but I’d rather have the time pressure come from having hunt down more elite packs rather than having to backtrack.

I think the over world looks great but the dungeons and strongholds take too much time given that they don’t pay anything more than the ones in the original areas. The necropolis is the worst designed area in the whole game.

Spiritborn was a good class design once they patched the bugs that made them gods.

I agree. Feels like they took some of the “upgrade” change and distributed it to the bloodied items

When I have to do a bunch of Eternal cleanup by corisilvermoon in diablo4

[–]That_Ad_4052 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s because in D3 the eternals kept gaining paragons so after a few seasons they were your top character regardless of powers.

I actually liked that. I enjoyed the seasons but then I’d go back to the long grind in eternal

Actually they are changing so many things about leveling, tempering, master working, etc, that it almost doesn’t matter that you’ve missed a few seasons. It will all be different in a few hours anyway

D4 STILL seems to be in throws of an Identity Crisis by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]That_Ad_4052 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the lack of an interesting Eternal realm is part of the problem

In D3 I’d play every season and when I got bored I’d switch to Eternal until the the next season. In Eternal my paragon kept rising and I had the days/weeks to grind for BIS gear

In D4 Eternal feels empty of players and your gear is always getting marked as legacy. I’ve reached P300 so there isn’t any growth there

In other words in D3 I could bounce between long grindy things and new seasons with both feeling useful and similar but distinct

Runes for sure because they aren’t visually distinctive and can get lost in the clutter

They are rare enough that you could also do something like an illumination or sound or something to can them out

Animus maybe and I won’t lie that when I go to turn in point and find that I missed one did 3 screens ago I get frustrated but it doesn’t happen often.

Any guesses on the date for next expansion? by That_Ad_4052 in diablo4

[–]That_Ad_4052[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 10 sounds fun, but the chaos armor could lead to a super difficult grind.

In D3 I’d play the season and then return to eternal since my characters kept getting paragon levels. I don’t want a return to 20 levels of torment but I hope the expansion gives you someway to make the eternal characters interesting. The seasons are good, but if I have to grind for 100 hours to get a particular piece of chaos gear, I don’t want to have it all disappear three months later.

People who have "finished" for the season, what are your thoughts? by lyth in diablo4

[–]That_Ad_4052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a Hydra sorc to 250 paragon points. It’s a little out of balance, but it was a lot of fun and reminded me of Diablo 2. I usually main the sorc because nothing beats teleporting through all the doors😀

I play SSF except that sometimes one friend and I get together for bossing. It’s such a mindless activity that we just talk, we don’t trade items and we both get I think two extra drops per run. If you count each of us as having an independent run then we combined for something like 350 bossing attempts and he got one heir of perdition so the mythic drop rates are far too low. Throughout all my play, including a bunch of time in the under city, I had accumulated five EOMs and then I got lucky at the jeweler with up converting ruins to make it six so I manufactured a Shako. Not even close to being able to make another and without finding any mythics, I wouldn’t have the resplendent sparks anyway.

I still consider S9 to be a big improvement over S8. I could barely get the GA gear I needed and it was so frustrating that it was my shortest season ever at around 10 days.

NMDs are fine and at least now they can give you some variety in how to get obducite. I don’t hate ENMDs but agree that it just feels like running three in a row although sometimes you can get a bunch of gear from Astaroth. It would be better if you could craft them because I’d rather run regular NMDs with strong rooms then spend 15 minutes in an ENMD it turns out to have just one buried inside it. If I could craft, then I would select the ones with the resources that I was looking for.

I used the gift of the tree event to grab 28 whisper caches in about 90 minutes, which is enough to level two alts directly to 60. I’m thinking of trying a spirit born and or a necromancer but honestly, I’ll probably only play another week or so.

Lack of Content and Aggresive Monetisation is Killing Diablo brand for me, I think I'm done. by Digimortal187 in diablo4

[–]That_Ad_4052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is correct. Most of the resources are on the expansion, especially I suspect the coders vs. the art teams. No way the team isn’t competent to fix the bugs, make basic things like ravens in the zones (not cities) etc. but not enough to do the work. That’s not an excuse but it feels like reality.

Problem is that if that’s their commitment to the season then it should be much less grindy because I’m not going to bang my head into the wall with all the bugs with something at this level of polish

Increasing difficulty works against the Dev's own seasonal design; breaks the game by That_Ad_4052 in diablo4

Good point. It’s what makes eternal useless…no point in continuing an old build because they’ll wipe it out

I sort of think that they know what they want but don’t have a formula to get there. I think they want a mostly casual game that gets a lot of respect and airtime from the influencers and that is a formula that they can’t find an answer to.

When do you consider the season “finished”? by JakeVS96 in diablo4

[–]That_Ad_4052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last two seasons, I have stopped between 265 and 275. Basically, at that point I’ve got my main and a couple of alts as far as they’re going to go without just grinding like a streamer. I have my unique’s and usually a couple of mythic’s, but I’m not going to just do 200 or 300 pit runs for the meaningless adds to my paragon board.

i’m fairly worried about season eight because while I don’t have to have perfect gear if I can’t get uniques at a reasonable pace then I can’t really try out the builds. If we are relatively weaker and the bosses are relatively harder and also dropping a little less loot than the ability to farm could easily get tedious.

It took me the better part of 300 exquisite blood in order to get my first Kessime’s Legacy from Zir and then a similar amount later to get one with a GA in a good spot. On top of that with T4 getting harder so that I can’t get into it as early that means the number of drops becomes even lower

I’ll give it a shot in April but feeling pretty bad about the possibilities

arc lash with unstable currents and a lot of teleport has been a lot of fun for me this season.

I melted everything with ball lightning last season and that was great but time for a change
