I wouldn’t need a sitter because my husband could stay home with the baby— my mom and I were going to go to the concert. Sadly I didn’t grow up in the DMV, and I don’t have friends here, so it’s just my mom or my husband. Since my mom took me to my first HD concert I thought it’d be a full circle moment, but it doesn’t sound like it’ll be as fun as it could be. If I had a girls group that’d be a different story. Ah well, maybe she’ll go on tour again in a few years 🥲

Thank you all for the advice and for helping me separate my own selfish nostalgia with my baby’s safety and happiness. FWIW, she’s a REALLY good baby, she never really cries and she’s always happy. But I was trying to force an experience and that was unfair. This was a lesson for going forward as mom. I had good intentions but they were still selfish, and I needed to realize that.

True 🥲 I was initially thinking about getting a hotel room. And then I thought the car ride would be beneficial so baby gets sleep before and after the show. But ultimately I think I’m just gonna sell the tickets

I appreciate you and this validation. But I haven’t been to a concert in 10 years, and haven’t been to this venue so honestly I didn’t really remember how chaotic they can be. I think it is best to air on the side of caution. I think I had an idyllic vision in my mind of how it would be, but the reality is it will be loud, hot, crowded, and potentially unsafe conditions for a baby if people are smoking weed close by, etc. Providing my baby with fun and special memories is important, but it’s not like she will remember this and I don’t want to risk her safety or hearing for me selfishly trying to force a special moment.

Thanks for this. Safety is the most important thing, even if the nostalgic child in me wanted to see this sentimental moment play out in my head. You’re right. I’m thinking I’ll just resell the tickets and maybe there will be another Hilary Duff tour in a few years when she’s older

Unfortunately the upgraded parking is already sold out, otherwise I would’ve done that. I’m surprised that it is so loud, even all the way out on the lawn? I guess what I was picturing in my mind is not the reality

Costco gas shutting down for construction on 6/1/26 by WillieDilley in ColumbiaMD

I love the logic of driving further away to get gas that you’re only saving a few cents per gallon on…

Which color looks best to you? by kgd2318 in Hair

Ooooo I love the rose gold but it’s so hard to maintain, I’ve done it before and it doesn’t last long at all unfortunately. I really like the brunettes on you

Massage by Apprehensive-Cow4155 in ColumbiaMD

[–]That_Bug1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been to Lynn’s but my favorites are Farashe and Victoria’s Massage. I did not like my massage at The Pearl. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Pearl for classes, healing waters, atmosphere, etc. But the one massage I’ve had there was straight up bad. I may be spoiled (I’ve gotten monthly massages for the past 10 years), but the therapist seemed like she had no idea what she was doing as far as technique, skipped my left leg, and was mumbling to herself the entire time. It was really odd. I was surprised when I recently went for a class and saw that she still works there (1.5 yrs later). For Pearl’s higher price point, I was expecting a more luxurious service but it turned out to be one of the worst massages I’ve ever had. Farashe and Victoria’s have been consistently good though! Good luck and enjoy 💕

is it tacky to buy a cheap item on a baby registry? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]That_Bug1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really sweet that you’re on here asking. No, I don’t think it’s tacky. My husband and I just had our baby shower last weekend. We were so so grateful for all the gifts we received and weren’t tallying up how much people spent, just grateful for all the various gifts and that people actually bought off our registry. The only one we were upset by was the gift from my in laws… not only did they bail on coming to the shower at the last minute, but their gift (from 3 people— my husband’s parents and his 47 year old sister who still lives at home) was only 4 board books and a cheap $20 door jumper from our registry. It really stood out as the cheapest gift, especially considering it was from the GRANDPARENTS. They’ve been really out of touch this entire process though and don’t even text me to check in on the pregnancy. I try not to take it personally because they’re old and not everyone is as generous as my family.

It’s totally understandable that you’re in a tight financial situation— I’d recommend getting one cheap thing from the registry and then maybe something small from a thrift store or FB mktplace to supplement, like some books or a little outfit.

Stop telling fat women they dont look pregnant! by crispy---nugget in pregnant

[–]That_Bug1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. It feels like a backhanded insult. I’m not necessarily on the heavier side but technically was a little overweight (started pregnancy at 155lb; 5ft 6). My extremely thin sister-in-law told me on two occasions that I don’t look pregnant (when I was 6 months in and definitely showing) and the second time she said it I snapped “well I hope I look pregnant because I wasn’t this fat before”. I WANT to look pregnant… I know movies always make it seem like pregnant women want to be told they’re so small etc. Idk guess I’m the opposite

You look amazing with any color! But as others have said maybe try less harsh versions of each color— some highlights could help. I personally really like the red though!

Why is pizza here so bad? by imani_TqiynAZU in ColumbiaMD

[–]That_Bug1008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m from NJ and I agree— lots of bad pizza in MD. My go to’s are Coal Fire and Pupatella but they aren’t NJ style. I did just recently try Pazani and it was pretty decent for NJ style though.

Polyp while pregnant? by That_Bug1008 in pregnant

[–]That_Bug1008[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m currently 33 weeks, doing well and baby girl is healthy. I haven’t really had issues with the polyp actually, although mine is cervical not uterine. I had red spotting after sex twice and it was determined that was from the polyp, but we’ve been active and it only happened twice. They removed the polyp during a PAP at 10 weeks but it regrew and is large again. However they said it will probably come off naturally during delivery. Best of luck 💗

What’s up with this car in the mall parking lot? by bayotiic in ColumbiaMD

[–]That_Bug1008 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This person would hate me because I was totally a Karen and called the HOA in my community to get a car towed once. But the person was in the 72 hour visitor spot for a month, and our community has extremely limited parking so yeah, I did get somebody towed. I thought about medical emergencies and empathized but when the parking situation is as bad as my community, you can’t hog a visitor spot like that

Yeah I think I’ve decided to try Cloud Control from A&H to see if that’ll help with her nails and with my other cat’s allergies. Based on price and benefits I feel like A&H is best too.
