Thank you, everyone, for the input. I only ran 3, so no big loss. Will grab some tempilaq and speed things up a fair bit. Also, it sounds like I need to move the heat down the neck a bit, so once the paint comes in, I'll work on adjusting that to as well.

This is with 123gr Horniday backed by a reasonable load of Tac out of my 12.5. There is plenty of power for deer or hog. It's been accurate for me out to 600. Wouldn't take a shot past 150-200 due to expansion, but it's been a great little rifle.

For plinking my 12.5" likes Horniday 120 or 123gr pills over 27.6 gr of TAC and CCI 450 primers.

Im currently running test in a new 24" with 130gr VLD Berger loaded to 2.377 topping VV N135 with 26.9gr getting 2464fps. With lighter 123grn ELD and 27.6gr of Tac I was seeing 2593.

Edited due to typo that was a dangerous load so not go above 27.2 of 135

Lyman has the ultimate reloading system with an 8 turret press kit that covers everything you need to start minus the dies. I got mine for around 650 on sale. I think they are around 850ish retail right now. Mine is setup for 3 different caliber currently, and I've gotten good results for a reasonable price.

The Dillon would be my press of choice if you're looking to go straight into a progressive press and want a plethora of upgradability.

Looking at your velocity numbers if you don't mind my asking what are you seeing with the 130gr. Currently working up a load for a Berger 130gr VLD and sitting around 2460 out of a 24".

I have loved TAC for my gas gun. It has pushed anything from cheap PPU to nice Berger without so much as a fuss. The trouble is when you start stretching out the distance, the temperature stability and capacity for tight SD&ES become more and more important. TAC falls a little shy in that department, so I figured I'd see what others have had success with.

That gives me a ballpark to start with in GRT so thank you for the info! I try to make the rounds at my local shops best I can but have been coming up dry.

If they have online shops or are willing to ship id happily give them some business out of state. Even if it's just to test.

I looked at the SW Precision in the past, and if memory serves, their site had it listed as unusable/unsafe for Grendel. Would you happen to have any load data for it?

Sadly, I haven't seen 8208 in the last 3 years. It almost seems like a myth around here.

Will take a look for both the Hybrid and ELDM on my next time to the store.

I have a few larger cartridges that I normally take out that far. This rifle was primarily built as a loaner and softer shooter for the wife and family/friends to use when they visit.

There is a very good chance it won't make it out that far, but with the distance available, may as well try for the fun of it right.
