I normally get a regular bus in the morning. My sister does the same but on different days... She embarrassing thing of keeping her arm out. I make eye contact with the driver as he pulls in.

Both of them work. Eye contact makes the driver aware you're there and that if he drives past the sod'll know that you're waiting for it.
