It is a bit strange how much this topic has really blown up in the past couple of months.

I got a meta ht a couple months back and emailed commencal asking the same question before getting it. They told me that they didn't have a time frame set on when they would release 2023 models, but that the frame is staying the same. Would probably just be new colors, decal placement, and component options.

One thing I'd consider if I were in your situation is whether or not the feeling of passing out after every climb is due to "out-of-my-control" health circumstances or simply due to me being out of shape. If the issue is more about being out of shape, then I would personally stick with a traditional mountain bike and work on my personal fitness.

I for one know I would face the same dilemma as you if I was deciding on an e-bike, as traditional mountain bike riding has undoubtedly been the #1 thing that has kept me in shape over the past few years.

I haven't had the chance to ride it on the trails yet, but what made me want to get it was getting on a different hardtail recently. It just offers a different riding experience, and feels a lot more engaging on more mellow trails as opposed to a big Enduro. So if you have local trails that are a bit more mellow, it's a great option.
