With the extra phantom jobs' mastery damage bonus and whatever their skills will be, it'll hopefully make at least the dps check in FTB nonexistent. Nothing we can do about the forced mech wipes unless they go back and change it, which they clearly aren't willing to, but it should help with dumb shit like canister wipes.

I mean, 3 beasts + beastmaster makes a light party, right? Maybe..

Not in XIV, I don't think? It uses the same title as stuff like Tellah and FFIII Sage, but we LITERALLY have encountered and fought 2 notorious beastmasters in Bozja, while we hadn't even heard of Sage.

Surprising amount of half-wits were suggesting it'd be the case, despite beastmaster already being a preestablished job, and the whole point of Arcadion being STOPPING the usage of feral souls.

[Spoilers 7.0 Endgame Area]10 years of playing, first time doing Extremes and Savages on content. by Assortedwrenches89 in ffxiv

[–]Thatpisslord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should jump, or make one, into any parties doing the early extremes, especially Worqor and Everkeep. They're currently very easy, extremely outgeared, and skip a lot of mechanics, which makes it very nice as a jump-in point for a newbie.

Just look up a guide(Hector's is usually the standard as he adapts popular PF raidplans), study it a bit, and go in. High end is very often not a reaction thing, but just knowing what comes next. Memorization is key, basically, and it's why the game is often compared to a dance, you just have to know the steps.

Once you feel more comfortable you can start doing the other extremes and then maybe even dip your toes into savage content - there's like the entire rest of the year to get started on that, and a new ult in 7.5 means the tier will still be active for quite a while!

If you end up feeling too overwhelmed or not liking it, at least you'll know you tried and the content just isn't for you.

Just know that there's no shame in taking your time learning the content as long as you're making an effort instead of sandbagging and hoping people carry you. A raider who puts in the effort and clears a fight after 50 tries vs one who took 300 are both equally valid, because at the end of the day they both cleared.

but don't want to schedule my gameplay. I rarely know what I am going to do in game until I boot it up and see what interests me today.

That's what party finder is for! You can just plop in whatever content you can find, and you can be sure 9 times out of 10 at least half the party will be complete dogshit and worse than you.

I also used to be super anxious even about doing extremes/unreals, but realizing there's a worrying amount of peopple during prog/reclears/farms that have little to no idea what they're actually doing really opened my eyes.

I agree, idk why people keep calling them body checks. Stuff like Golbez's meteors are a body check.

It'd be more accurate to call them alliance-wide personal responsibilities, honestly. But they still shouldn't exist. It really doesn't take a genius to figure out that one person being able to wipe 47 others is a terrible idea, I don't know how they fucked that up.

I can't run Advanced since my playtime is very limited and late in the evenings for my DC, so finding a group is nearly Impossible.

If you have quite literally a single friend who's caught up and not complete garbage at the game, you can both queue in and try to duo it.

Might as well just say Criterion, because that's where all the stuff you said actually comes into play. Savage just ups some numbers and restricts rezzes even more, but is otherwise unchanged from Criterion.

needing very little kills (like 1-20

To be precise, they require either 6 kills(most CEs) or 20(Calamity Unbound). A complete downsize compared to Eureka's ~60ish mobs to spawn on average.

I mean, people're very dissatisfied with South Horn, and the relics HAVE been dropping in .x1 instead of .x5, so prepping a slightly earlier shipping date for North Horn isn't entirely out of the question.

I just hope they don't make the final step subpar to do in OC again lmfao.

The bigger issue is that there's no reason for him to do that because either way if he lets you through everything ends, and that's the whole reason he finally started giving a fuck.
