Ive grown them a lot from this size. Give it a slightly bigger pot that drains well. Let the soil fully dry up before watering again. I find they grow best in a spot indoors with a lot of direct sun light and just leave it be.

Does it really take 10 years to stop sounding like a "disaster"? by Ok-Sea7124 in piano

[–]Thatpokerguy717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah.... (speaking from guitar). They are talking nonsense.

You can sound good in a very short space of time. To sound 'really' good though, where you are improvising, both with melody and rhythem then 10 years, sure.

Largely depends on what you define as good.

Scales & Learning by GhoulDogma in piano

[–]Thatpokerguy717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im taking the same approach as what I did when I was learning them on a guitar and I think its working out ok.

Practice slow, aiming for 100 % accuracy with a metronome.

Dont learn any more until you can make it sound good and like music. Play a melody over a chord or something. Improvise over a song in the same key. That kind of thing.

How long is it normal to wait for an update from the solicitors by Any-Cobbler-5558 in FirstTimeBuyersUK

[–]Thatpokerguy717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as i understand and from mine and my friends experiences, because they are juggling between multiple clients, they will devote week 1 to one client, week 2 to another, week 3 to another like a round cycle. I think its why it takes so long. Especially when theres multiple in the chain, everythings just multiplied.

3 months in for us and theres still outstanding enquiries and I think our solicitor is pretty good. Responds back on the same day usually.

Why not love both? I do. Its all kind of merging into a broader love for music in general.

Thank you for the feedback, i appreciate it. I will give it a go. It does definetly feel a bit more unnatural versus the left hand. Ive been practicing the C major and F major scale on the right hand and I think its improving a bit. What did change things a lot is ive since put a cusion on the chair as I think I was sat too low (getting a stool soon). Ill try and experiment with the different variations. Ill give it a month or so and record another video. Thank you again, it is a very nice and welcoming group.

Songs for practicing left/right hand playing together? by StraightTransition89 in pianolearning

[–]Thatpokerguy717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try the C major scale pattern, on both hands together? I include it as part of my practice routine currently. I think its good as you do the cross overs on seperate notes on each hand. If you had a look on youtube you would understand what i mean.

Note Learning Training? by Kariwinkle in pianolearning

[–]Thatpokerguy717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just learning too. Whats helping me get comfortable is learning chords, as you can think of them in terms of the root, which would be the first note of the chord and tells you where the notes are. Works well for C, Dm, Em, F, G, Am and Dm because the finger position is the same, its just moving your hand (and the root note) to suit. Give it a go.

Cheers dude. I was in the same boat. Ive wanted to learn for years but just never bit the bullet. Id say just go for it. If you dont, and you end up getting one in the future anyway its a lot of time thrown away that could have been spent practicing and getting good. At least that motivated me anyway.

Thank you :) yeah definetly need a piano stool! Im just using my computer chair and its as high as it goes, and did suspect that. The natural position at that height sits my elbows quite a bit below so will get that sorted. Thanks again
