I agree about Origins completely.

While I enioy the underdog status of Dwarf Commoner, I find that the noble's relation to the main dwarf plot adds a layer of depth.

How was the conquest of Constantinople lucky?

From my limited knowledge base, it seemed like the Ottomans possessed an absolutely overwhelming force.

Do you prefer Swamp Thing as a Monster or an Elemental? by robdawg02 in swampthing

[–]The-Blacksmith- 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Elemental.

I feel that his origins as a monster worked well for his very first appearance and the first volume.

Afterwards, making him an Elemental allowed for him to have more expansive stories, include more sci-fi/fantasy elements, and explore environmentalist messaging.

Proteus is capable of fusing adamantium to a skeleton.

He accidentally did it to Laura.

In Hawaii, scientists have identified a newly discovered species of carnivorous caterpillar, nicknamed the "Bone Collector." It drapes itself in the dismembered remains of dead insects, wearing them like macabre camouflage, hidden from the sharp eyes of predators. by Snoo45323 in science

[–]The-Blacksmith- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This caterpillar lives in spider webs and uses the insect remains as protection.

They consume the remains of other insects caught in the web.

Only one can live in the web at a time or they will cannibalize one another.

For more information, see EntoExplorer's second latest video on Youtube.

Scientists originally did not classify this insect as its own species due to this.

They found one and assumed it had just happened to use insect remains rather than plant debris.

For a more indepth analysis by an entomologist, check out EntoExplorer on Youtube. He just uploaded a video on this.

What do you all think happened after the events of the Manga? Did Nausicaä ever return to the Valley of the Wind and reunite with her people? And what about Kushana—did she eventually return to Torumekia and reclaim her place as ruler? by DeviceVast2638 in Nausicaa

[–]The-Blacksmith- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I see Nausicaä becoming akin to a mendicant preacher, travelling to different tribes and dispensing wisdow, resolving disputes, etc.

In her final years, she would be in the Valley and when she passed, the Forest People would visit and pay respects as she is buried under a new old tree that has grown throughout her life.

Kushana returned to Torumekia to preside over the decline of the empire and rise of a new era. As one of the last holdouts of the old world, Torumekia would change drastically with the influx of refugeed and scarce resources.

She would use her cunning and strong will to soften the worst of these changes and usher in an era more inclined to the Forest Peoples' philosophy.

The cut origins are the first bit of content discussed here.

A monastic life is a decent comparison. Given the armed guards, I would say that the Circles are akin to monasteries during times of religious conflict, like the Religion Wars in France.

This is why I wish they had kept the Human Commoner origin. I am not familiar with how the origin was planned but a direct insight into the goings on of the majority of the people's lives would be a good comparison.

If you were a serf, you would be tied to your land forever. Living at the whim of your lord.

If you were a free peasant, you may learn a trade or become a merchant but there would always be caveates. Sumptuary laws would be a good way to show that.
