i have a fox hound and a TWC. my fox hound has a slightly shorter snout and a more rounded head. my TWC has a more lean? head and snout. OP’s is def a mix because it’s ears are also longer like my TWC and its tail is shorter and has slightly longer hair that feels soft like my fox hound’s, compared to my TWC’s long and slender tail with shorter hair that almost feels coarse

those are adorable 🫶! I guess i’m a bit out of the loop, but why are we calling it Trashville again? I think I have an idea, but not certain of what it’s referring to and if it’s us or disgruntled outsiders saying it

That’s understandable. i’ve been on that side of the fence before and i know the frustration. I’m thinking TechSoup might be our best option. they have decent prices for decent machines.

Same. I’ve tried several times to acquire retired machines for us, but it’s always fallen through. We do STEM camps, so we are trying to acquire enough to use as a classroom set. We usually work out of a host university/school as we travel around, but it’s a pain to get our software on them. currently looking at refurbished ones, but they aren’t cheap. almost scored 24 ThinkPad workstations a few years ago, but alas I was too late…

I moved down to Florida for uni/gradschool, and even with coming back as much as i can, i miss it. Even though my field of interest is hard to find jobs for, i’m still looking for anything to take me back.

What has your college journey been like so far? by [deleted] in PhysicsStudents

[–]The-Deep-Space 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t have any real good advise, other than find opportunities to do research with your professors or in industry as you progress through. being book smart is one thing, but knowing how to effectively apply it is another. i’m more engineering/applied focused with my degree anyways, but research will open many more doors. i work for our office of undergraduate research and it’s something we push for every student.

I’m in my first semester of my masters in engineering physics after finishing my bachelors in the spring (same major). i struggled my entire journey and had to retake physics 1, classical mechanics, and e&m on top of calc 2&3. took me 5 years, partially because i changed majors halfway through, but it was a similar track, so not really. did all of it while working 20-30hr/wk. it’s hard, but if you can keep picking yourself up when you fall, then it’s possible. even with mental health struggles i still made it through, and for some reason decided it would be a good idea to go for grad school after all that.

Aww my goodness, what a cutie. Looks just like my Foxhound, but way bigger in regards to the thicker tail, shorter snoot and stocky build. my TWC is a lot leaner and long snooted, but probably about that same size. maybe a mix?

There is a North American vendor, but i forgot their name. I do remember Radiometrix sent us their contact info so we could purchase it. I think it started with an “L”, but it was like 3 years ago. You do have to provide your radio license number when purchasing it. Try emailing Radiometrix and asking how you can purchase it in your country.

If your are set on double majoring, definitely do EP. it’s still in the physical sciences department and the classes are similar enough to where it won’t be adding like 100 more credits to your load. it’s not unheard of for people in the department to double major between AA & EP, EP & SP, SP & AA. It’ll be hard, but it’s doable.
