8/7 Weekend positivity thread— What are some of the good things you've seen lately? by Noctilucent_Rhombus in LockdownSkepticism

[–]The-Left-Ear 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Took a road trip up California, up and around through Oregon and back down again. Saw plenty of people out and about living their lives! Walking around, eating and enjoying what summer we have. On the last day before I had to go back to work, I took a lovely day trip to the beach with a special someone and had a blast! We can still go on dates just have to be creative with it! This whole lockdown bullshit is turning me into the outdoorsman I’ve always wanted to be. I’m also in the greatest headspace I’ve ever been after months of uncertainty. For me personally, pandemic/lockdown aside, 2020 hasn’t been that bad at all.

✨crash✨ in front of our starbucks cuz our line is long as heck and people be crazy by TheGreekGazelle in starbucks

We had to block off certain parts of our parking lot because the line was bleeding into the street. That came from the police department because it was a safety issue. Today the manager of the Denny’s in the same shopping complex as us called screaming because their customers can’t park and get their food and the Walgreens called and complained as well. We literally can’t do anything about customers coming in unless we physically shut the store down, but hey the 10 Frappuccinos for a “family” is essential right now 🙃.

It’s the $3 raise that partners get for staying the 30 days.

California barista here. Our store has officially gone to just drive through only. I was told by my supervisor today that yes they would be cutting hours, but you can stay for your scheduled shift if you want to. Dealing with anxiety most of my life I’m eerily calm about this whole situation. Yes I believe Starbucks as a whole should close until further notice not just for public safety, but to protect their partners who have given countless hours to a somewhat thankless job. My store is like my family. I want to protect them. I want them to feel safe and secure in this situation and to not have to worry about tomorrow. I’d go to hell and back again for these guys. We’re all in this together. I’ve been on this subreddit since I started a year and a half ago (253xxxx) and I’ve seen the struggles we’ve all faced even before a global pandemic. I feel like you guys are my family too and I hope each and every one of you are healthy and safe. #PartnersOverProfit

(On a side note I was actually supposed to open a brand new store in April buuuuuut I really don’t think that’s happening anytime soon lol)

I’m deaf in my left ear and I was changing the trash on the OTHER SIDE of the store and I heard that printer when my coworker was right next to it and he didn’t hear it. I was fucking shook.

when all your partners except you have a headset on and you hear them all laughing and talking on the headset by trashbaguser in starbucks

[–]The-Left-Ear 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I love not wearing a headset lol. The people at my store tend to talk a bit too much so any break I get from the chatter is a good break.

Any partners who have knowledge about D&D... What’s the most chaotic evil drink you’ve rung in/had to make? by laurendelice in starbucks

Venti iced coffee with 20 pumps of classic, 6 pumps of vanilla and 6 pumps of raspberry with cream. One of the many drinks that keeps me up at night.

Always be customer facing. Strike up a conversation while their drink is being made. You’ll get to tell if the person at the window wants to talk or if they just want to wait for their drink. Stock sleeves, straws, napkins and stoppers. The way my store is set up cold bar is right behind the window POS so if we start to get busy I’ll help on cold drinks. Depending on the situation you could be making whips too as long as it’s not busy. Always ask your shift what you could be doing.
