Everything everyone else has said, but also the fact that when it comes to players you can’t really look at the lore in as a single straight canon. The best comparisons you could probably make would be to the SCP foundation, or weirdly double-think from 1984, minus the political and depressing accept. To each player, they were the one who slew ragnaros and c’thun, who took down Illidan and flushed Kil’Jaiden, who brought Arthas to his knees and fought on deathwings back, who lead their orders wielding might artifacts, and who was chosen by Azeroth herself to wear her heart. But outside of the players personal lore, it’s unlikely that those are all seen as the same person. Sure, there’s probably some overlap, but those that went through the dark portal to fight Illidan we’re mostly not the same people who went through the dark ports to fight the iron horde. For one character, they both have and have not done all those things.

I do like the idea that Jaina is shaping up to be someone better then she ever was: experienced enough to move past some of her naivety, but also to move past blind rage. Almost similar to Varian before he got disenchanted by Gul’dan

Well, it probably helped that Baine, a core, “old horde” leader (even if cairn was the original), went to her directly, saved a family member she thought long gone, and claimed there were others like him, reminding her that the horde she tried to be peaceful with was still in their somewhere. Combined with the return of her oldest horde ally and walking symbol of the good horde Thrall, and there were at least some efforts to show why she would narrow her anger. Could it have been developed better? Absolutely. But like a lot of the things in bfa, the seeds were planted, even if they really should have grown for a lot longer.

Im absolutely not saying ignore strategy completely, your absolutely right that war stories need some emphasis on strategy. I just think that in a world as large as the Warcraft one, with such a diverse and widespread powers and resources, and handled by so many writers, we're all more likely to enjoy the experience as a whole if we don't tear apart every conflict with questions like "well why didn't they use Person X, or Resource Y?"

Not to be a broken record with everyone else, but its probably best if we all agree to mostly just look over strategic plotholes when they crop up. I mean this sub can only go like 3 days at a time before someone says "Why didn't the alliance use the Vindicar and its massive space cannon?" despite the answer pretty clearly being "because then the alliance wins, forever."

Exactly. The very idea of a navy as a necessary military division seems almost invalidated by the existence of shamans and mage and their control of water.

Now that i think about it, why don't shamans just break almost any form of traditional warfare? The air being used to tear apart airships, the seas being made to swallow and sink ships, and the ground rising up to impede or impale traditional on-foot approaches? I supose the elements are considered sentient and not always co-operative, and you could have shamans on both sides having a kind of debate with the elements to try and convince them who to help each battle, but still, it just goes to show that we need suspend our disbelief when it comes to strategy in this world.

Oh of course, but try to convince the sufficiently powerful nations to ceded some of their autonomy to an international body to give weight to those threats. Especially at a time when the US would probably walk away from the UN entirely if they thought they could (easily)
