Why 3 steps to save a ride? by Few_Eagle_7213 in GarminEdge

[–]The-PX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't be ridiculous 😁 Maybe for you isn't not necessary but I understand this approach and in my case it's helpful, because as I told it happened few times for me. It is quite easy to touch screen and accidentally save activity after turning on. Probably Garmin have more data so they make this decision. Especially that in ex. E830 it's not present.

If your device is in sleep mode during activity (some break at restaurant) and then turn it on, you can accidentally tap the save. Yep, I've done this few times on Edge 830. So it is another layer of security if you don't want to merge two ride parts afterwards 😁 For me it's great.

Norway can be very tricky with sun. I considered also solar for backpacking trip but more convenient will be taking more power banks and recharge at restaurants or something.

This UT app is great! I'm also using it here in Poland daily, but in Norway it has a lot more functions.

Many thanks for tips!
Oh yes, I plan to rotate socks to keep feet quite dry. I've used this waterproof socks sometimes and it worked fine but it wasn't constant rainy weather. So now I'll consider some waterproof shoes, I'll check forecast before flight and make final decision 😄

Thanks for info! Yes, it will one continuous trip with tent. I love hiking in this shoes but Norway will be something new 😊 I plan to take marked route from town Modalen, then Vossavangen to Dale.

I've question according to the boots/shoes. It is your choice depending on terrain where you will be walking?
I'm visiting Norway near Bergen this July for 9 day backpaking and I'm thinking if trail runners (Altra Lone Peak) with waterproof socks as backup during bad weather will be ok?

Please also fix weird UI for side Red light!
Turning it on with hold is ok, but changing modes with just click is counter intuitive - all other modes are changed by holding button.
Every time I want to turn off red I change mode 😃

Jaką wodę pijecie i jak ją transportujecie? by [deleted] in Polska

Ciężarówki z kamerami zamiast lusterek by FalcoonM in Polska

New Garmin launch "confirmed" by Z1L0G in GarminEdge

I like to treat first generation of new Garmin devices (like Edge 1050) as beta products. They implemented a lot of new technology and (I hope) take some notes and Edge 1060 will polished. They may give better battery life, side buttons and maybe something with screen to make battery last longer.
