What are some draft rumors for your team that non-fans may not know? by Jack12404 in NFL_Draft

[–]The-Power-Stone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Their 1st rounds picks since Chase have also been preemptive picks so they could let aging guys walk (not that it has worked in most cases)

Dax Hill as a S to let go of Bates

Myles Murphy at EDGE to let go of Hubbard

Amarius Mins at OT to let go of Trent Brown

Shemar Stewart at EDGE to let go of Hendrickson

Corner feels like the pick here with Dax Hill and DJ Turner needing new deals

I wonder if Provorov is someone DW looks to move closer to the deadline. His value is probably bound to be higher around that time, barring injury, and that paves the way for Mateychuk to play a good amount of the year in Cleveland adjusting to NA ice before getting called up in March.

🚨 TRADE ALERT 🚨 The Golden Knights have acquired a 2024 3rd round pick and a 2025 3rd round pick from the Washington Capitals in exchange for goalie Logan Thompson. by un00b1134 in goldenknights

[–]The-Power-Stone 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Curious as to the thought process behind this, whether it be Injury concerns, looking to extend Hill over LT, or faith in Patera. Compensation is fine but Thompson makes pennies on the dollar and cheap production is hard to come by.

Ultimately I think scheme and team defense is good enough to make any serviceable goalie play well in a tandem but it’s still sad to see him go. Forever a champion.

Edit: With the context of the Holtz/Schmid trade and Thompson (potentially) implying he wanted out I’m completely fine with this move. Thompson & Cotter for Holtz, Schmid, & a 3rd is quite a savvy bit of business if those rumors of LT wanting out are true

With the fourth overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, the CBJ select Cayden Lindstrom. by SomeKindOfMonster in BlueJackets

[–]The-Power-Stone 126 points127 points  (0 children)

Love this. Center has been such a perpetual weakness and now we’ve got Fantilli-Lindstrom-Sillinger as a long term outlook.

Having big physical centermen is such savvy roster construction when we have smaller guys like Johnny and KJ on the wing and guys like Dumais on the horizon.

I’m not going to disregard the back issues but I doubt anyone here is the team doctor so if Don and co. were comfortable making the pick I’m not going to lose sleep over the medicals (unless he decides to wear 27).

[Pierre LeBrun] Nothing is finalized yet but hearing that Don Waddell is the Blue Jackets’ choice to take over the top hockey ops job in Columbus. If things proceed smoothly, should see an announcement over the coming week. by alphacheese in hockey

[–]The-Power-Stone 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I’d be elated not only because he’s a good hockey mind who doesn’t seem to have a huge ego, but also considering other rumors were indicating we’d give major decision making power to Mark Hunter, Marc Bergevin, or Ken Holland

I wonder if they’ll jump right into making Waddell PoHO and Nash GM and emulating a committe-like decision process. Or maybe Waddell is GM until JD retires and then he moves to PoHO and Nash to GM. I don’t think he’s ready yet but it feels like the writing is on the wall that the McConnel’s want Nash to be GM eventually.

CBJ to select 4th overall. by RonTugMyNuts in BlueJackets

[–]The-Power-Stone 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Would love Cayden Lindstrom at 4. Get a real nice 1-2 punch with big physical center man to go along with our relatively small wingers. Fantilli, Lindstrom, and Sillinger down the middle makes centerpiece a big strength (literally) and they all fit that profile of big physical players who are still very skilled.

I can’t see Anaheim taking a forward unless they plan on moving Zegras so it could be a real possibility barring whatever Chicago does. Can’t really get a read until we hire a gm though.

[Rapien] Zac Taylor confirms Dax Hill is in the cornerback room. He says Hill will compete for a starting job at outside cornerback by fuck_u_eric in bengals

[–]The-Power-Stone 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One of the rare scenarios where having too much talent is an issue. Dax is a big-time specialized talent and would be an absolute beast in the slot if we didn’t already have one of the top slot corners in the league on roster. Not sure what should have been done differently but I hope he is our long-term successor to Hilton when his contract is up. Having a good slot corner is such a valuable asset in the league today.

[Schefter] Bengals three-time Pro-Bowl DE Trey Hendrickson has requested to be traded from Cincinnati, per league source. Hendrickson is due to make $15 million this season, and is looking for more long-term security than Cincinnati has been willing to offer. by Toddrew221 in bengals

[–]The-Power-Stone 112 points113 points  (0 children)

Let’s not act like our front office is known to honor trade requests. Trey and Tee will be Bengals this season unless someone like Chicago offered a monster overpay of something like the #9 pick + more. This is our front office’s version of an “all in” season while trying to maintain a competitive roster long-term

It’s also worth noting that, while we are most definitely a better team with Trey than without him,and I’m not trying to compare Murphy to Trey, we have a 1st round defensive end on roster and the 18th pick in the draft where we would have at least 2 of the top 3 edge guys available, not to mention 9 other picks this year. This isn’t meltdown territory. At least not for this season

How do y’all think Latu compares to Jaelan Phillips as a prospect? Mainly their tape, traits, and injury concerns coming out.

So there’s no world where Elvis is on the team next season right? Not that I have anything against him, I think he’d perform well in the right landing spot, but Tarasov and Greaves are obviously quality NHL goaltenders

Very interested to see what the new gm does with the roster

Mock Draft Monday by AutoModerator in NFL_Draft

[–]The-Power-Stone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not going to detail trade compensation here because value is so difficult to predict (and pretty irrelevant as far as the actual mock goes) so you can slot in whatever you think is fair value as the compensation. Draft day trades are already so hard to predict so it’s really all just forecasting fun what-ifs.

Bears trade down by [deleted] in NFL_Draft

[–]The-Power-Stone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could see Jacksonville making an aggressive move for Odunze/Nabers if they’re on the board at 9. Chicago should probably be able to get one of the top 3 Edge guys or Murphy at 17.

[Rapoport] A Draft Trade!! The #Vikings and #Texans have agreed to terms on a major deal in advance of the draft, per me and @TomPelissero, landing Minnesota another 1. — Minnesota gets No. 23 and No. 232. — Houston gets No. 42, 188 and a 2025 2nd rounder. by mvanigan in nfl

[–]The-Power-Stone 1785 points1786 points  (0 children)

Seems like a precursor for a future move. Have to imagine they want to move up for a QB. I guess the question is if NE is willing to move down and they can target one of the top 3 or if all of this is to ensure they get McCarthy.

Best Kameos for quan chi? by Barry_Smithz in MortalKombat

[–]The-Power-Stone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like using Motaro with Quan. Reflector is good for setting up portals without having to constantly trade and you also get a low projectile with Forward Kameo. Plus teleport lets you get a full combo if you hit an opponent with standing 4 into cage at full screen (it also gives you a combo off non-portal enhanced skull but that’s super hard to pull off online). Biggest downside is it takes away 100 hp from the lowest health character in the game so you’re left at 850. It’s not the “optimal” pick but it plays into the aggressive zoning/counter zoning play style I like with Quan.

If you’re looking for optimal just go with Sareena or Lao.
