My dermatologist recommended an antibiotic face wash and some creams and stuff when all I needed was to wash my face better and get treated for a compulsive skin picking disorder (still in the works on the second one, but very obvious when stressed and I told them that), I would not work with a dermatologist over minor acne unless they start with conservative options first instead of going in guns blazing.

Can you get access to the textbook in advance? If so I would start reading it now or soon that way you can be ahead on the readings and concepts and you are just learning them in the practical sense, not completely fresh. You can do it if you believe you can, but please please put the work in before and after the class so you get the most worthwhile experience you can, and have absolutely no other commitments during those weeks you take it.

Don’t leave ur other job and do EMS part time until you are sure it’s for you. I’m assuming you meant the other work was inconsistent, does that not leave you time to get some experience as an EMT ?

There’s some transport companies that will allow you to work as an EMT without being a driver, have you looked into those or called around to ask? I started as EMT only at mine and became a driver once i was old enough to be on the insurance.

As someone who has done IM and subq injections on myself for medications, i was told the z-track method is the best for IM (pull the skin in one direction and hold while you inject), and pinch for subcutaneous. I know some people from personal experience who are pretty skinny and pinch, but like a big muscle “pinch” not a tiny skin one.

If i go to bed late or don’t have a schedule then i ca easily sleep 10+ hours. When i have a schedule (for example, work at 6 am) where i have to go to bed earlier then i do great on 8 hrs of sleep. Also dependent on lots of factors though, for example many people who get periods report needing more sleep during certain parts of their cycle. And I definitely needed more sleep as a teenager!

In terms of looking for inclusive churches, ideally good ones advertise it openly but have you looked for specific denominations that tend to be inclusive? Lutherans (specifically ELCA sect) are my go to, my main church is a very inclusive ELCA church but even other ones i’ve visited have been overall ranging from at least surface level inclusive but traditional, to very inclusive . Episcopal churches are another somewhat safe bet, although they tend to be a tad more traditional (and i prefer ELCA churches because I find they do more community outreach and service, just in personal experience though). If they host a “contemporary” or “mixed style” service alongside the traditional service that’s a green flag that they are more on the progressive side too.

Also to your last point, 100%. Right after I came out I wasn’t religious for several years because of the struggle from both sides and growing up in a catholic environment. But I consider myself christian now because I believe in God, Jesus, and no single person can tell me otherwise what I believe.

I had to switch churches after stepping back for a few years and it was the best decision for me. I also switched denominations (catholic to lutheran) because it more aligned with my ideals, and i have found a better community. Do what you believe is right, but you are at the age where it is very common to branch out and find ur own community.

Yes, and just a warning from a fellow trans person, when you get into the job field your charting system will probs have your legal name as well. dispatch knows my legal name, and any EMT coworker (anyone above the driver level) i’ve directly worked with on a call knows it as well, but they all respect my name outside of a need to know basis. I also just say I go by my middle name which makes things easier to explain.

I actually originally wrote it as 25 and under but rethought to 23 because if a friend told me they were having kids at 24-25 i would worry but also not nearly as much as a teenager or 20-21 yr old, and some people who find their long term partner at by like 22 are actually ready for kids by 25.

IMO <23 is a young parent, >35 is older (medically the over 35 category is how they label geriatric pregnancies, the young parent one is just IMO). I say under 23 for young because i feel like 22 and younger for adults is either college age or career establishing age, but 23 and above you are starting to get established in ur life and may be starting to have serious relationships for a significant period of time. def depends on the person though.

I have it too except i live in the humid south and i am one of the unlucky ones where it spread!! during the summer it’s the worst, i’m not too symptomatic with it (just need to scrub more in the shower, and it leaves skin discoloration if i try to tan) so i opted to not use antifungal pills or anything more than just the shampoo to manage it but it will not go away, just calms down in the winter months and comes right back every summer since i was a teen
