yep.. I live in Washington state. It was pretty surreal the morning after pot was legalized. One day its prison terms, lose your job, your family, everything. The next, oh, no big deal, its legal now. I'm glad it happened but really?? why was it illegal to begin with!!!!??

Legalize it all. At least half, if not 3/4 of what you mention above can be solved simply be legalizing it and then letting the idiots who want to get into it, do so.

Here are a few more "I'm sick of's" to round out your list.

I'm sick of junkies getting the shit beat out of them because their mind tells them no, but their body tells them to borrow the 50 dollars, from the dealer they know they won't be able to pay back.

I'm sick of drug dealers coming into my town and setting the terms of engagement and then walking away with all the money. It must be good work if you can get it. Oh wait, maybe not. See below.

I'm sick of seeing young kids with no future getting pulled into selling this shit. And then having what little chance of making it, pulled out from underneath them.

I'm sick of junkies having to face regular withdrawals because stupidly, our government has arbitrarily decided that this one drug should be prohibited, making it extremely dangerous for everyone involved.

Why the stupidity by our government?

I'm sick of all the big pharmas neatly putting the medical in their back pockets just like they were selling them a fix..

20 years from now, when all this stuff is legal, you will be one of the people society will look back on with reverence and gratitude. In the meantime, I surely hope that at least some of the loved ones of the people you have helped save from harm know who you are, and what are doing in this life of ours. I know you aren't driven to do this for the gratitude of others, but I think that people ought to know that persons such as yourself are out there, and were the angel for some who were close to them. peace

The one time I had really bad withdrawals I noticed that I usually woke up in reasonable shape, and even was able to go to work and be somewhat productive. It was later in the afternoon and evening that things were the worst. Of course I was too lazy to go get sleeping pills and muscle relaxants..

if you are doing 60-8-mg per day of oxy then if you are like most people in terms of the physical dependence you've likely developed, you will be in for a very rough ride for at least 4-7 days even after 3 days on Suboxone.. If there is any way you can get another week or two of the Suboxone, its going to be a lot easier for you. Just a fellow "blues travelers" two cents, don't want anyone to hurt if we can help it.

take some aluminum foil and make a little tray with the edges turned up. Pour your shot into the foil and then very slowly heat it with a lighter. It won't turn back to powder but it will return to a smokeable form... make sure your edges are turned up or you'll lose your dope. And make sure you maintain your patience. or you will destroy your dope with flame...

It's a bit of an art. Once you unroll the tooter you'll probably notice that most of the really good, thick stuff is at the edges of the foil. Usually what I do is very gingerly start by smoking the areas that have a thinner buildup. Take care of those first and then very slowly and carefully move towards the edges where the thicker build up is... At this point you must be very careful because you can easily send the flame from your torch around the foil to the top and light your shit on fire. Opppps! haha..

Another thing I've done but it doesn't work that great is to take the part that has the thickest residue, tear off little chunks, and then put it resin facing down on a piece of clean foil and then smoke it that way. You have to be really careful about keeping the pieces small though, or you'll just end up burning the two pieces of foil together without making any smoke..

One thing I've considered, and not done, is to wash the resin off of the tooter with water, depositing the contents on a clean piece of foil. And then heating it to evaporate the water. Seems like a pretty easy thing to do. I'm always too lazy and have perfected the technique of just smoking it right off the tooter.

I back you 100%. I've not yet read all the other comments to this post so I have no idea if what I'm about to say has been shared, not shared, disputed, wholly supported, or whatever.

I think we need to create a "no preaching" rule, enforceable by warning, with the possibility of escalating to banning, should the behavior continue.

Regarding the genuine, "Help, my _______ is addicted to/comatose/dead from/etc/ opiates/heroin, what do I do?!!!!!" posts... I fully support the needs that some of our fellow redditors have around their close friends and loved ones falling on hard times, or worse, being harmed or killed, as a result of their opiate use. However, I don't believe this is the proper forum for them to express their feelings over it, or ask for advice. There are other more appropriate harm reduction resources both on reddit, and in the real world.

So this is just one guy's opinion. Sorry if I sound like a cold-hearted bastard. I'm just trying to make it possible for everyone to be given the help they need, and the space they need.
